So. Pretty good weekend in Melbourne town.
Last night I went to The Arthouse and it was a great fun night. Robotosaurus were on first, and they fucking ruled. Reminded me mainly of Omerata. But yeah, everyone just kinda stood there and slightly nodded their head, which was kind of disappointing. But anyway, the were really awesome.
I actually talked to people...impressive! It reminded me that going to shows on your own is really the only good way to make some new friends. I met the girls who run http://www.bandphotosrock.com and in looking at the site, they take some pretty awesome pictures. But yeah, probably spent a bit too much on beer. Didn't really see Dad They Broke Me, was just talking to people and stuff. Birushana were really, really good. They had 2 bass players, and just in general were awesome to watch. Mainly the violent rocking motion that each bass player made when they went "GRUNGGGGG". In order to catch the last train home I left before Grey Daturas, but I was getting really tired and feeling the effects of too much beer, so off I was.
Today I played footbag, Jamie was down from Bendigo, which was rad. It was a pretty chilled out session, mainly due to the fact Dan wasn't there. And then Dan came and things weren't so chilled out any more. Ah well. There was a pretty good turnout.
Tomorrow I'm going to return to Melbourne, play some footbag, then me and Jamie and Kate are going to head down some of the Great Ocean Road and try to get some good footbag footage. Tomorrow is 9 months of the Dan + Kate show. That's a fair amount of time. But yeah, things are going pretty well in that regard.
Anyway. I should probably try to find myself a better job.
