yesterday I did training for this new job. 10-6 @ $18/hr. We went a little bit over time and they were like "don't worry, we'll pay you for this too".
So look back at previous organisation
"ok, here's a script, get on the phones, it's training so you don't get paid". This is actually illegal. As are many other things that that company does. Sup Today Tonight.
This new place, BMS Telecorps, is a member of the Australian Direct Marketing Association (ADMA), so they have standards they have to adhere to. This is another change. But yeah, didn't really do all that much during the training. Learnt a lot about sales techniques, good ways to close a sale, etc. Did not, however go on the phones at all. I think it would have been good to put us on the phones for about half an hour or so, give us a go. But oh well. There are also commissions, and they have a points system to get them. So if you get 10 points, you get a $10 coles myer voucher, each point after that, you get another $10 voucher. 10 points is about 7-8 sales. They also have happy hours, where there is double points, and times when you get scratchies if you make a sale. Seems like it will be a pretty fun place to work. Also, I get to read about rugby league in the sports pages. This is good.
But yeah, hours are 3-8 weekdays, 10-5 saturdays. Gives me plenty of time to do footbag stuff during the day, which is really good. Checking out Lizzie's place on Thursday. It would be quite excellent if that all worked out. Paying just over $80/wk of rent would suit me just fine.
I think it's about time I went and ate some breakfast.
