I've really not done a lot with my day.
I have started putting some serious effort into this show I'm putting in, getting it out to the various gig guides out there
so far I've submitted to Bombshell, FasterLouder, Punkhardcore + a couple of others that I can't remember...and also sent an email to BMA about it.
If anyone can think of anymore gig guides and shit to pester, let me know.
I haven't got a PA lined up for it yet, I contacted one guy about it who seemed like a sweet deal, but he was unavailable and that saddened me.
I was thinking about the first show I put on before. It could have been done better, but hey it was my first show
there were more than 50 people there
there were big pits for each band
all the bands got paid
someone got a pot plant thrown at their head (MARIO STYLE)
everyone seemed to have a pretty good time
so yeah, it was a reasonable effort for a first attempt, though I know I can do much better.
I was talking to Paddy before and was saying it was awesome how we've all started to get off our arse and start doing things
Paddy with his design
Kayte with the zine
me with putting on shows and also starting the footbag club
even the guys from Templestowe, going out to play shows and shit
and everyone else doing what they do
it's good.
And the fact is, right now, we're all starting out, but we're helping each other out, hooking each other up, and if any of us make it successfully, I reckon will help the others out.
August is going to be pretty intense
there's a show with
A SECRET DEATH, THE ABANDONMENT, THE AUGUST REIGN AND HOSPITAL THE MUSICAL
I'm contemplating abandoning my Sike Your Mind plans, as I'd probably enjoy that show much more...and it's in Sydney...
here's some other August action
5/8. Wollongong.
!!!!!!Charity Hardcore Festival!!!!!! With The Jonestown Syndicate, Kohere, Jack Napier, Burning These Bridges, The Fight For Us, Pain Killer Jayne, Takedown & More TBA
26/8. Bar Broadway. Monstrous Tunes
A Secret Death Twin City Faction Furcurve The August Reign Hospital The Musical The Abandonment As Venice Sinks Rex Banner Ohana Between The Devil and The Deep
these two I will hit for sure, they're both on Saturdays.
I was looking at the calendar, and sike your mind stil looks doable. It will be interesting to see who else makes the trek. No one seems to have any money anymore and no one seems to be drinking anymore
OH NOEZ.
But yeah
take it as it comes.
This post is a big ramble
