My sister has written a survey called "Kathryn's Lovely Survey". (If you want a copy of it, you can email me.) In it was the following question which was obviously just for me:
32) Ever worn different shoes thinking they were the same?
When I was 14 (at the age when it is oh-so-crucial to look cool in public) I accidentally wore two different shoes to Castle Towers. Mum took me out and when we got to the car parking lot, I went to put on my shoes and I discovered I had brought with me one EXTREMELY high high-heeled shoe and one normal flat shoe. I was crying out to Mum saying "Please! Don't make me go in like this! I can't wear these!" and she was shouting "Put the shoes on now and don't be a baby! No one will notice!" We were there 3 hours! 3 hours of hobbling around as if I was a stilt-walker on only one stilt. 3 hours of looking ridiculous, I had that sort of clomp/drag walk you get when you've put on one shoe and can't find the other, only my clomp/drag was so emphasised I was permantently at a 30 degree angle. I was a sideways hunchback of notre-dame!
