Is "Imperfectly" the gay album? This has to be the gayest Ani album. There are some great songs on this, but I have to say that I prefer the lyrical and musical maturity of her later albums.
Her later albums are less anthems and more personal introspection. She paints better pictures, the songs are more complex. There is a different sound.
But we all need an anthem or two...or twenty-five.
When Im down, I buy an Ani album. This is a good artist to do this to, because the woman has a large catalogue.
Woody Guthrie in the body of a righteous babe. I love it.
