Life = Joke: part III

Here's the latest installment of my life as a joke.

So last week we had this super important conference going on... well, at least the people in charge thought it was super important, however, I personally am still not convinced of the incredible importance of the conference or any of the people in attendance.  I'm going to cut out the majority of the details to spare you utter boredom, and get straight to the punch line.  Anyway, it was crunch time right before the conference started and a last minute errand had to be run, and of course I got stuck doing it. This errand was, of course, super important, so I had to get it done as fast as I could. So, I grab my purse and my keys and run out the door.  I get to my car and unlock the door, get in my car, and with the same key I just used to unlock the door I attempt to start the car when I realize... wait for it... I only have half of a key.  Yes, folks, I broke my key.  I looked outside my door and the other half, the important half with the ridges, is just lying there on the ground.  I didn't hear it snap.  I didn't hit it on anything,  The dang thing simply fell off.   How could this have happened, you ask?  Beats the hell out of me!

This is my life as a joke.

On top of that, I come back inside laughing hysterically because I JUST BROKE MY KEY IN HALF and my boss (one of the supposedly super important people doing the conference) comes out wondering what could be so funny.  I simply hold up the the remaining peices of my key and shrug with a giggle.  To which he sternly replies "That is not funny."  To which I simply explain, "It has to be funny."

This is my boss:
