  1. asian languages:
as far as this goes, i really like the mechanics of asian languages, mostly the written style. i am so sick of european lettering and the whole idea of a different writing style is exciting to me from middle eastern to chinese characters. the only real problem is the complications of learning it.
  2. buffalo daughter:
this band is great. for some reason or another, japan seems to be behind the times in trends and many there still think that 80's are in. but anyway, this band is so cheesy and fun but i don't think that that was their intentions. anyway, everyone should check out their songs, "brush your teeth" & "earth punk rockers".
  3. current 93:
david tibet...that's all i need to say. i love him! he is one of the most creative musicians of the time. though many don't like his singing style, anyone can agree that he is a musical genius.
  4. experimental:
just the type of music i mainly am interested in. i like when people try something completely out of the ordinary to create music.
  5. industrial:
used to be big into this type of music but it is fading more and more into the mainstream and too many artists are adding rock vocals to it so....flush it. i still like the original forms of this quite a bit though...and i don't mean nine inch nails...they barely had anything to do with industrial music.
  6. kurt vonnegut:
this is the best author i have ever read. all of his literature is very insightful and crafty. i wish i could meet him before he/i die.
  7. noise:
this goes back to experimental music. i like this for the same reasons. some of my favorite noise/experimental bands are foetus and the boredoms
  8. ralph steadman:
this is the guy who illustrated "fear and loathing in las vegas". i really like the messy style of his art.
  9. shipping news:
this is one of the best bands from louisville ever. they are an experimental rock band, that sound something like the bands, june of 44, slint & tortoise. if they ever come to your town, go see them. i think they go to chicago alot because the bassist from shellac is their audio engineer. noteworthy songs: "quiet victories" "photo-electric effect"
  10. the rachels:
another band from louisville, they actually share two members with the shipping news. this is one of the best chamber bands around so if you like orchestrated music, check them out. they consist of viola, cello, piano, synth, guitar, bass guitar, vibraphone, and drum kit. very very good and have tons of albums. check them out!
