Unplanned

Mar 23, 2013 23:59

I woke up early enough because of Snails & Molly needing to go outside. I took care of them and then started various chores around the house. I then went to lay back down with Josh in bed for an hour or so before he woke up and got ready for the day. I cleaned up more and more around the house.

Best Buy had a deal on iTunes gift cards ($80 for a gift card worth $100) and since I've been meaning to buy Final Cut Pro off of the App Store, I decided to get a few iTunes gift cards. Their policy was limit one per order, so I placed four separate orders and then went to the store to pick them up. After around 40 minutes of waiting for all of the orders to go through, the last one was canceled on Best Buy's side. So the customer service representative asked if I wanted to just buy the gift card there. It rang up for $80 so I paid for it on the spot. I redeemed the gift cards and then purchased Final Cut Pro.

I didn't have much time to play around with it since our plans to visit Josh's family tomorrow were changed to today. There's a winter blizzard warning in effect for our area tomorrow and so we decided to go and visit Josh's family for dinner tonight instead of tomorrow. We drove down to Pontiac for dinner and had the strangest timing when getting off of I-55. We were talking to Josh's family while we were both taking the same exit. They were exiting from I-55 North and we were exiting from I-55 South. We waved to them as we passed them on the main road. We had a delicious dinner and spoke about various topics. After sometime, we headed back home to where I went on a cleaning rampage and started going through some of the messes we have around the house. After taking care of that, I wasn't mentally tired and couldn't fall asleep so I looked at things on the computer and got a little work done before falling asleep.

Plans can easily change when confronted with the unplanned. I find it interesting that we actually plan a fair amount but rarely ever have a Plan B, and 90% or so of the time, everything is fine. Then there's that 10% and it seems like 90% of that time is met with us needing a Plan B, not having one, and being upset because we were so looking forward to the original plan. Planning is always one of the things that can be disappointing either way, but having a plan beats not having one when it really counts.

Best Buy decided that purchasing four of a 'one per order' was not right and cancelled the fourth order, but let the others go through.
