Black Is Indeed Elegant

I started getting hooked up to watching tv shows in my junior year of college. I remember how I always got exhilarated on Fridays, because it's me time; and of course, I got to watch Chuck. And I almost forgot I still had some academic shizz to focus on!

I never knew how eccentrically awesome British tv shows are, especially those with "Black" in the title. No matter how twisted the plots could be (and sometimes disturbing), I'm always intrigued how they came up with those brilliant ideas.

Like for instance, Black Mirror is all about how technology could destroy us. The show is being portrayed in so many things that aren't customary. It pushes beyond its limits, and gladly, the creator (Charlie Brooker) pulled it off. Damn, no one among my friends know about it, so it adds a mystery to how insanely good it is. It's indeed a true gem hidden somewhere.

I became familiar with Orphan Black through my sister. I thought it's all about deception, portraying different personas as a way of living. Maybe I didn't get that part right because I first didn't care to what my sister was saying. I was lazy to venture into new series, and I couldn't even finish those that I was catching up on; plus, I was busy that time. But it wasn't what I expected. It's about human cloning and it gives us awareness that science is gradually hoisting its capabilities for human satisfaction and comfort. Good thing I doubtedly explored the pilot episode. Otherwise, I would regret not being able to catch up while it's still kind of new. And I must say, the lead actress (Tatiana Maslany) was able to portray her roles very well, especially when she does the role of another to cover up. Now I'm on the latest season, and I hope I'll be able to finish this in a day or two. This show is such a hodgepodge of thrill, comedy, derangement (for Helena's part and it freakin' scares me), perplexedness, and awesomeness, of course.

I'll probably watch Orange Is the New Black next because a lot of people have been talking about it. And of course, I want to see something new and laid back (I hope) without losing its essence.

gloomy, elegance, writer's block, senseless post, senseless, crappy post, black, drama, crappy, awesome
