Social media has become a powerful tool. One example where you can use it is to promote movies coupled with word-of-mouth marketing. From then on, people will be curious and if it's actually a good one, the craze will be contagious to the point it reaches the other side of the globe.
Korean TV has already made a big name in the entertainment industry. It is like the Asian Hollywood, together with India's Bollywood. Their movies, however, are not that familiar. And then the Train to Busan broke the anonymity.
I was one out of millions who got curious in watching the movie. The number of posts storming my news feed was the culprit. I am not a fan of zombie-themed movies or TV shows, but I bit the bullet and watched it anyway. As long as it's daytime and I am with my sister, I will be fine.
I was at the edge of my seat while watching the movie. Suspense gives me a dose of my feminine character, which is depicted by countless squeals that could probably cut my throat out and bother the entire neighborhood. Then, I would suddenly rebut it with cussing. As entertained as I was, there are a couple of things I have observed. First, I could say this can compete internationally, let alone it premiered in Cannes. Second, the typical Korean drama still screams. And lastly, the characters are relatable.
Overall, this movie is a must-watch, especially if you're a fan of watching anything about zombies. As for me, it wasn't that scary. I was just a bit squeamish when a zombie gets up and attacks uninfected people. And now that I have heard about the prequel, let me go ahead and watch that.
