Fighting for Freedom?

We just got past the Memorial Day and I don't even know the essence of celebrating it. Perhaps, I have no idea at all since I'm a foreigner to this land. Just recently, I found out that it's made as a holiday in the USA to commemmorate all the people who have fought for the freedom of this country.

Freedom has neither been lost nor taken away from us. We just don't use it properly. And because of it, it feels like we always yearn for it. Freedom is a responsibility and should not be wasted at all.
