we emerged at 1pm and ate breakfast. doug had gone home yesterday, but was coming back with friends today. he missed his exit, but being too big of a man to ask directions, he ended up going an hour too far south. he asked his mum if he could "cut across." unfortunately, there was a bay in the way. after having a good laugh at his misfortune, we went to the beach. our little friends from yesterday were there, and the water was, if possible, colder and rougher than yesterday. upon arriving back at the house, we discovered a strange car in the driveway. when nobody answered calls of, "we're home!" we proceeded with caution. i went into the tv room and found a strange guy unconscious in the chair. when he finally came to (with me staring at him and holding a champagne glass), we asked who he was and what he was doing in our house, to which he responded, "i'm drew." real helpful there, pal. i thought he was some random guy who got drunk and fell asleep in the wrong house, but apparently he's just one of doug's friends. he showed up about half an hour later with another one of his cronies. we were quite amused by his amazing sense of direction. i guess he falls under the stereotype that men really don't ask for directions. we went to levally blonde 2, but there were these two obnoxious homophobes sitting behind us. chelsea and i contemplated pretending to be together. we did end up talking about "our gay friends" within their earshot. oh, the joys of strange looks. we then went to the boardwalk, where we spent a good deal of time waving to people in a sad attempt to make friends. most looked confused, some waved back, others pretended they didn't see us. one guy, "constantine," introduced himself. he quickly came to the conclusion that natalie was italian. what a silly boy. we also observed a very confident guy in a pink shirt and another sucking on gummy worms. made me wet. chelsea pretended she didn't know us, for the most part.
