the show was awesome. i can't hear. it made me forget a bunch of stuff that was going on in my life at the moment that is less than happy. [i apologize in advance. i am still quite drunk.]
permanent me: cute little band. i was buying merch as they were playing.
the early november: awesome. check them out. for serious.
new found glory: i love them. have loved them. continue to love them. they played hit or miss and glory of love. what is not to love? god. chad. that is all.
here's the story, morning glory. as not an OCK member, i did not get GA. i was not that upset. i was going to the show [bought tix for the lil cousin and lil brother so i could have company] at the warfield with no intention of getting into the pit or on the floor. we wait in line for [yes, we had balcony nosebleedy type seats on the second floor.] an idiotic amount of time... hit on, bothered, and harassed by street vendors and homeless folk [ahhh, the City. how i love it.]. i bought seats so i wouldn't have to wait in some stupid line. ahh, well. like good little soldiers we waited. and waited. and waited some more.
finally at 15 minutes before show they let us in en masse [i stuff my camera down my pants. warfield doesn't allow digi cameras. several people during the sets were being taken up front to the ticket booth by security, etc.]. so we traipse up to our seats, and some mother asks us if we can just move down one seat. they have 4 together but for some reason ticketbastard put a single person by themselves. we say sure and wish them luck. so originally we had 4, 6, 8 [the warfield does evens right next to each other in seating then odds in another row. it's weird. whatev. it's the bay.]. we ended up with 2, 4, 6. whatever i had aisle, but the lil cousin's seat was broken.
as in the movie seat that was supposed to flip down... did, but onto the floor.
so me being the grown up went to go talk to management. fast foward 15 minutes of talking [really all we wanted was to be either moved in the balcony to seats that...were... not broken, or whatever. we didn't want the pit (hell, i had a heavy coat and my bag with me as i was not prepared for pit -- i flashback to the recent MCR show at the ARCO Arena in Sac)] and this lovely lady usher brings us to the line manager who then directs me to the ticket booth lady who...
basically gives us three tix for a reserved table on the floor.
ye-ah. so i got to sit down, have my drinks and watch the show.
i could not tell you the set list to save my life because i am a) forgetful and was rocking out too hard b) drunk.
things of note though:
+ the set? tarot card-y with fairy lights and stars. i kid you not.
+ they start off the show with the Thundercats theme song. my brother and i? the only ones who knew the words.
+ during Gin Joints Pete meanders over to Patrick and nuzzles his neck. I kid you not.
+ joe trohman loves to jump up on the amps.
+ pete does speaker jumpe
+ guitar lick during... i don't know. can't remember
+ songs i think were played [in no real order]: gin joints, saturday, arms race, grand theft autumn, xo, uh... those are the ones i can remember
+ patrick was dressed like a trucker [checked flannel shirt and i swear he was wearing a Cal hat, but it was probably the black Clandestine hat]
+ Pete was dressed as if going on an expedition to the himalayas. the black fur lined hoodie with glitter on the back, and then stripped it off for a purple shirt with gold lame on it. i think. this could be a figment of my intoxicated mind
+ joe troh has the fro
+ andy hurley shirtless as should be if the world is kind
+ pete talked a lot. as per usual. it was fun and entertaining. also as per usual
+ patrick stump i love. as do i love joe troh.
i haven't seen fall out boy perform since warped tour uh... 2004 or 2005 i can't remember. i'm old and drunk. the latter is something that occurs occasionally the former just is.
they rocked it the fuck out.
i did not stay to hang out by the buses because my cousin [bless him] was leading me out and back to the car.
note for the merch buying individuals
the sizes run smallish. there is a white hoodie with a turtle [all in black airbrushed/screened print] on it with a speak bubble that says "Fall Out Boy", zip up hoodie - $40
there's a brown hoodie with a black screened skater dude with pink skull balloons for $40
the concert tee with the dates $20 dark gray S - XL $20
ladies sizes S - XL lighter gray
little boy face with pink/red hearts [boy and tour dates in black screen]
there was also NFG hoodies and shirts. i'm sure you're not interested in those though.
concerts are fun. and patrick stump did not make me forget so much, but he made my night better.
also pete writhing on the floor helps too.
