Dinner ended up silent, and without anything else to focus on, Battler found himself getting restless. He'd never been good with waiting, especially now that it evoked sense of helplessness. .... Too many times spent just sitting, wondering what was going to happen next, who else was going to be found dead. Of course, nothing like that was going to happen here. He knew that, but even so, the association was hard to shake. But then again, maybe it wasn't so much that as knowing where he was going. After all, even though Ange was he sister, what was their relationship right now? Nothing but a bunch of convenient lies. ...... After everything, he couldn’t even acknowledge her.

The door finally opening provided more than a little relief, and after changing his clothes and gathering his things, he was already out into the hall, resisting the urge to run. It sounded like he might have to be more careful tonight; who knew what kind of screwed up surprises could be waiting? After that night of jumping halls, he was inclined to believe Landel when he alluded to having some kind of nasty trick up his sleeve. However, just because he believed him didn't mean he was afraid. It certainly sounded like that was the intention, but knowing that, who was going to listen? After being told 'this is the door,' he'd rather sneak in through the window instead! Therefore, instead of being weary about whatever was to pop up, it could almost be said that he welcomed it.
