Xemnas passed through the kitchen quickly, following the young detective in what was a walk-in refrigerator. No immediate threat lay in wait to jump from the shadows, nothing that was seeking to hinder them once more; the Nobody was able to conclude this much through the briefest of investigations, as little time could be spared for more ( ... )

"A trapdoor in this corner," Momo stated, her breath fogging in the cold air. Despite only having half her sight, she was unperturbed by having the majority of the cold storage room unseen. There was nothing she could do about it, the trapdoor being on the right-hand side. There were enough of them in the small room that they would be alerted to something far faster than she would.

Sliding the slightly discolored tile to the side, she revealed the trapdoor. It was pulled up, revealing a set of stairs heading down. "Stay close," she said, disappearing down the stair. They were almost there...

Aidou led the way inside, not stopping until he was at the lip of the trap door. With the floor tile concealing it having already been pried up, it was fairly obvious what route they would be taking to escape the cold confines of the fridge. A stupid place for a hidden passage, without a doubt.

And to what was down there… He couldn’t catch a wisp of blood or other odd smells or sounds, which made him think whoever had come before them had made it to the ballroom without trouble. He hadn’t been totally prepared for the fire-breathing freak the last time, but they’d been the first group down then. If something was guarding the way, it likely would’ve struck the first ones into its territory as Heat had done to them.

Close. Was he finally going to get somewhere new?

"You’d better get all your questions out now," he advised from over his shoulder moving onto the stairs. Gaara was the one most clearly out of place, but he didn’t aim it solely at him.
