Night 50: F31-F40 Hallway

A ring. Like she did with the Exsphere earlier, Rita attempted to bring up the interface that would allow her to examine the gem's properties in better detail, but it was no use. All she had to go off of was the Head Doctor's explanation, and whether that could be trusted or not remained to be seen ( Read more... )

( ... )

Bella burst into the room, moving towards her bed to peek under the mattress for the blade. "Where is it ..." she muttered under her breath, peering around for a few moments before moving to her closet.

Shoving the clothes aside, she bent down low, looking for the shining shard - but a spasm of pain shot through her back, and she drew in a breath, biting on her bottom lip quickly to silence the pain. A few moments later she was back to her normal self, and seconds after that she found the shard of glass on the floor of the closet. Reaching out with careful hands, her free hand moved to grab onto a spare shirt, and she wrapped it around the part she normally held onto, giving herself a handle. "There."

She was not -

She was not.

He almost did grab her and drag her the other way, but he remembered her palms and at least if she took him to it he could break it. How idiotic - how ridiculous did she have to be, thinking she could use a shard of glass for a weapon? Even he wouldn't do it, and his hands could heal in a minimal amount of time from that sort of injury. Actually, he would have grabbed her either way if he hadn't noticed her shutter. Give him a few years to watch her, and he knew her motions, knew how her body moved. When it was normal, or when it was... not.

He was angry about the weapon, but that could wait.

"You're hurt somewhere else, aren't you? Not just your hands." So he couldn't really blame her for the dishonesty being a two way road, but he had promised he was going to stop hiding injuries from her - at this point, they were an inevitable outcome, anyway. But she was doing the same to him, and she didn't even have the excuse of being inhuman. "Where is it?"

Upon hearing the announcement about a ring, Kairi froze, and turned her gaze towards her desk. Honestly, she hoped that Carter got it - he had helped her immensely, and she already had something special within her grasp, so it would only be fair. Moving slowly towards the wooden piece of furniture with her flashlight in hand, the once princess searched the drawers ...

Only to find nothing.

Thank god, she thought to herself with a small smile, That means Carter found it, right?

At least, she hoped so.

Moving back towards her bed, Kairi reached under her mattress and retrieved Rukia's sword. Grasping onto the weapon tightly, she moved out of the room. She had to meet Sora and Riku, after all!

A ring, huh? Donna wasn't so sure she even wanted to bother looking for something like that. Ludwig probably had it, or if he didn't, it was probably the gaudiest thing she could imagine! Yet despite her thoughts on the matter, Donna found herself too curious to not at least give things a look. It wasn't long after the announcement before she was pulling open her desk drawer to see a small ring clatter to the front.

Didn't look so bad.

Of course nothing ever did until it was sucking the life from you. Donna knew X-Files, and even without that, she had seen well near enough in her travels to know that you shouldn't trust looks. It would just leave you with a headache later. Or split ends at the very least ( ... )

Elena knew something was wrong before she was even fully awake. Maybe she was getting spoiled, but she felt herself frown a little when she noticed she was alone in bed, and that the sheets were thin and rough. Stefan's bed was comfy! And so was being held by him. The absence of both made for a quick wake-up, and she sucked in a hard breath when she sat up and realized she was absolutely not in his room. She was pretty sure she wasn't even in the Salvatore house anymore, which meant she was either kidnapped (again) or... Well, that was all she could come up with, at the moment. It took her a second to notice the flashlight under her pillow, but she was quick to turn it on and point it all around the room, making sure she was alone ( ... )

So, with ten rooms per hallway and four halls altogether, that would make forty rooms. Which was a lot, but it wasn't as if it was going to take much time to search each one. The problem would arise when someone was actually inside one of them...

"Hopefully most people have left by now," he said with a glance to Cloud. Most people except for Aerith, if they got lucky. Even if she was in a sleep that she couldn't wake up from, at least it would let them know that she was okay in some manner of the word. "Should we knock on the doors or just open 'em?" Zack was more prone to the latter option, but seeing how some people might actually be sleeping, it might be better to tread carefully.

"Knock, of course. If no one answers, we'll open them slowly." This had the potential to get very awkward if they weren't careful. Their desperate desire to find their friend didn't give them an excuse to be rude to the rest of the female patient population, however. They would check the area as quickly as possible, but they'd at least knock.

This hall wasn't incredibly active. Most had already left, and those that hadn't were asleep for the most part. There was no sign of Aerith, or anything that would tell them she'd been there. If this had been her hall, they'd have no way of knowing. That was very discouraging, but then what part of this whole fiasco wasn't?

He shook his head as they reached the end of the hall. "I don't think she's here." Their only option, then was to move on to the next hall, then the next, and the next until they'd covered them all.
