Waiting Room/Lobby 1]S.T. took one long step through the door and straight into a shelf directly at eye level. The impact made very little sound in and of itself. "Fuck." He stopped, and rubbed his face. "What the fuck?" The lingering dizziness could have been a result of hitting his head, except that it had happened before

--running straight into the man's back. "What?" He shook his head to clear it and staring at the area in confusion. "This doesn't make any sense, I saw a hallway as well... there must be some kind of teleportation device at work here. Something that's either activated as we move through doorways, or is built into the doors themselves. We should--"
He stopped at Sangamon's request, managing somehow to become even more confused by it, as though the teleportation wasn't enough right now. "Plastic what?"

It was Landel's game, start to finish. He called the shots, they pulled their levers, and the best the prisoners could do was queer the data so badly the experiment got shut down. So by rights, Sangamon knew his next move should be to sit down and not move. But where was the fun in a sit-in without a media circus. Sure, someone had to be watching -- small boys didn't kick over an anthills and not stick around. But the cameras were well-hidden, and he was on a mission of mercy. Besides, no one would ever accuse Sangamon Taylor of a lack of curiosity, even if it got him killed.
He opened the door. "Ready?". The question was rhetorical. He was already halfway through.

Since she'd gone through the door looking inside, Morgan didn't get a good look at their destination until she was through. Even then she couldn't see much until the others came behind her with their flashlights, but it struck her right away that something was wrong. She'd heard the storm outside all day, so why was it so dry?
When the lights emerged again and she found herself in a cramped little room looking at a shelf of mayonnaise and oranges (oh, just great, they might be stuck in a freaky medical possibly-on-another-planet afterlife, but at least they wouldn't be in danger of getting scurvy), she had her answer.
"Guybrush!" she snapped, doing an embarrassingly good Elaine impression, "I thought you said this door led outside!"

Putting a hand to her head, Elaine scrunched her eyes shut for a brief moment to regain her senses. Surely it was just the rain and wind catching her off guard. Only there wasn't any rain, and the only wind was a sudden whiff of food in her face. Her flashlight snapped up to position, the beam meeting obstacles much closer than expected. This looked suspiciously like a pantry and not a big field at all.
"Guybrush!" Elaine snapped in unison with Morgan. Unnerved for the third time by a mirrored action with the hunter, she kept her mouth shut for a moment, letting Morgan continue on. Thankfully, taking the extra few moments to gather ( ... )

Or not, as they found themselves in some kind of closet, or pantry. His shout of "Guybrush!" was preempted as both of the women beat him to it, having gotten a head start on realizing he'd lead them into a dead end.
"O' course it's this oaf's fault. Why wouldn't ya know what's right down the hall from yer bedroom? Come on, let's just go try the front door, like I was goin' to before you all showed up."
He turned in the cramped space, and found that as soon he was clear, it had closed itself. He opened it and stepped back out into the more spacious hallway.

Leela was right behind Chise as the girl opened the door. She wasn't scared or anything, but she sure didn't want to get stuck wandering on her own.
Then she didn't know if she actually took the step into the next room or not, but she must have, because the bottom dropped out of her stomach, and instead of a literal nasty shock, she got a more metaphorical one that forcibly reminded her of her spin in the Maternifuge. She stumbled, and dropped the journal. Her new friend was still with her, thank goodness. "Chise, are you okay?"
Leela closed her left eye, and looked around. This was not the exit. When she bent to retrieve her journal, something moved on the floor, and she let out a yelp that she quickly cut off. "Oh, just a cockroach." She straightened and shined the light around, closing her left eye. What possible use could a wormhole from the hall to a food storage closet have? True to what she'd seen so far, everything in here was old-fashioned and weirdly wholesome-looking. "How did we end up here?"

"Oww...I'm, I'm okay I think." She replied, trying to maintain her balance but was thwarted by the lingering dizziness. Even though the room was spinning, she could tell that they were definitely not in the entry room. "Wha--that's weird, m-maybe we went through the wrong door? L-Let's go back the way we came where there's no c-cockroaches and bugs."
Reply
"Better roaches than owls. Those things are impossible to get rid of." She gave Chise a moment to collect herself, then nodded. "Good idea." She opened the door again--
