[warped from here.]As Porky stepped through the doorway to the rec field, he suddenly felt queasy. He shut his eyes and readjusted his stance. Ugh...what had just happened? Was Landel pumping nerve gas into the institute or something? Shaking his head and giving himself a light slap on the cheek to help focus, Porky opened his eyes ( Read more... )

[ rom over here ]The moment Battler shut the door, something felt... off. Not to say that it hadn't been before--there was absolutely no explanation for something as screwed up as that scorpion that had been chasing them. But wasn't that where it got stranger? ... That thing had been chasing them. In fact, it still should have been, but there was absolutely no sense of it trying to force its way in. There was no feeling of it pushing on the door or any sound at all, not even something like movement against the tile. It was coupled with inexplicable sense of inertia, the kind that didn't come with simple movements and actions, and looking down, he noticed something interesting: this definitely wasn't the door he'd been holding. Wasn't the design completely different ( ... )

With that thing still following directly behind them, Klavier quickly found himself becoming less picky regarding which particular door they went through. Anything had to be a better option than staying there! It had caught up with the group far too quickly and it was all Fräulein could do to try keeping it at bay. Wasting time would only prove dangerous for all of them. So, without much thought, Klavier ran through the door the redhead had opened for them all.

As he ran through, he felt a bit... strange. Dizzy, maybe? That was strange. Had he been getting so out of shape that a little running was actually disorienting him or had the sight of that blasted thing affected him more than he'd realized? He turned back to be sure they'd gotten through the door as well when he finally noticed... Hold on a second. Klavier frowned at the door then the tile then the inside of the room. He knew he hadn't been paying attention to the particular door he'd run through, but he was very sure it hadn't been a bathroom door. Actually, if memory served ( ... )

It wasn't backing down and try as she might to hold it off, the impossible thing kept getting closer. The hit directly to its face hadn't done anything to stop it and the hide seemed armored or at least immune to a stinging blow like hers. Franziska nearly snarled in frustration as she arced the leash back and over at the thing again. Frustration was good. Anger was good. It kept her fear choked down where she couldn't feel it so it couldn't affect her. When she felt the two men disappear behind her, Franziska let off one last snap of her whip and then ran after them ( ... )

... Of course, the other guy was right. It was easy to get worked up and distressed after something so messed up had occurred, but it certainly wasn't going to help things, and it looked like everyone was okay, which was the important thing. Battler took in a deep breath, trying to calm himself down some, although the woman's comment caused him to glare. ... What a seriously annoying attitude. She'd probably give a much better impression if she could learn to phrase things less frankly. On the other hand, she hadn't looked so great herself for a moment there, so it was probably best to let it slide. Maybe he wasn't the only one who needed to cool their head a little ( ... )
