Nightshift 49: Disciplinary Therapy Room 5 [MU for Sylar]

May 20, 2010 18:34

The doctor hummed tunelessly under his breath as he adjusted the last of the monitors and checked that the equipment was all in place, ready to be used once the time was right. It was important that the more... interesting items be kept out of sight of his patient for the moment, as a large part of this would be dependent on timing.

It was something he felt his subject for tonight could appreciate more than most. The subtle intricacies of time, of people... figuring out the most effective way to get under their skin not with brute force, but suggestions and nudges, a careful word here or there... Yes, they were both more than aware of how much the smallest comment could affect someone. What to say in order to get the reaction they wanted from others. But it was past time for the man who called himself Sylar to realise that he was dreadfully outclassed here.

The subject in question was strapped to the table in the centre of the room, an IV standing close to him, though there was nothing hooked up to it at all. Monitors were set up close by as well, facing away from the patient's line of sight and humming softly in the silence of the room. Otherwise the majority of the room Sylar would be able to see from his vantage point was largely empty other than a table with a fairly standard array of tools laid out on it and a large, covered tray. Behind where Sylar was strapped down there were several larger items, pushed to the side of the room as though they were just left over from previous nights. All in all, the room seemed almost innocuous, considering its purpose. Only the fact that the patient was restrained seemed to suggest otherwise, and that would change soon enough.

"I believe we're finally ready," the doctor commented to the orderlies in the room with him. "And just in time. Our guest should be waking up shortly as well."
