Easily forgiven? Unlikely. A pair of (presumably) mental patient committing theft. No, it was highly unlikely they would be easily forgiven. Conscience-wise? It wouldn't even stain his thoughts, really. Nothing like ten years of judgemental slaughter to make your mind jaded against the simpler crimes in the world

He smiled a little at her, so it seemed his mood was relatively good for now. She smiled back in return, suppressing a small shudder from the cold. "Good morning, Heat-sa... Heat." She was still working on keeping the honorific from his name, though it sounded rather impolite in her ears.
"Ah, yes, actually," Aigis replied, remembering how Heat had been a little confused by her nature the day before. She would do her best to fill him in, and maybe he would stop thinking of her as human when he knew the truth. "As a machine, I had before been able to calculate the temperature and adjust my cooling jets to regulate my internal temperature as needed."
She shivered once but it wasn't very noticeable. Really. "This model, however, has done quite well in reacting as humanly as possible."
She gazed around at the town again, up one side of Main Street and then down the other. "Today it seems we're allowed to wander wherever we please. Have you been to this town before, Heat?"

"Cooling jets, huh?" He really couldn't imagine her having jets of any sort, and it just seemed silly for her to say as much. Whatever she'd been before, she was cold now and that was something he could sympathize with. He actually considered offering her his jacket on top of what she already had on, but he knew he'd end up regretting it later. "You need to stop thinking like that, cause I'm getting tired of arguing about it."
He followed her wandering eyes and frowned at the town's general state. Were they mocking them with those smiling faces? "No, I haven't been here." He might have just missed it, if he remembered right. Wasn't this some weekly thing? It didn't look all that exciting, whatever it was.
"We should use this chance to try and find a way out of here." Though this was likely on everyone else's mind too, and he'd yet to hear of anyone getting out that way.

"I would stop," Aigis said, biting her bottom lip. "However, I still need to test the theory a bit more before I put any hope into it. I... would hate to be proved wrong." That would be too painful. And it seemed just like Landel to give her a false sense of hope before smashing it to pieces.
Aigis shifted from one foot to the other, considering their chances of escape. It didn't seem likely, with the nurses and orderlies keeping watch. Even now, a nurse Aigis didn't recognize watched them from the street side.
"Escape doesn't seem possible, unless we were to use extreme measures." She gazed across the street to some of the stores and her eyes immediately latched onto signs that read "T&M Electronics" and "Bill's Hardware," probably the only stores in the small town that would ever mean anything to her. But she didn't need any repairs or parts at the moment...
"At the very least, perhaps we could pick up some supplies while we're here. Though, scouting out the area for potential escape routes would not be a bad idea either." Putting her hands in her pockets, Aigis looked to Heat for direction. She didn't know if he minded her tagging along, but she worked better as a follow than a leader in her modest opinion.

Perhaps the situations weren't the same. He knew the others would be quick to try human food and would be grateful for any release from the constant demanding hunger, but there would probably still be some small voice in the back of their minds telling them not to get used to it just in case the change wasn't permanent.
He turned his focus to her change in topic. She was right, unfortunately, not that he'd expected a method of escape to present itself easily. Getting supplies would also be difficult, given how their every move was being tracked.
All the same, he nodded. And given that she appeared to have put him in the position of leading this outing, he began to head toward the hardware store.
