Kirk looked up as he always did when the intercom came on during dinner, as if it would be that easy to catch a glimpse of the man who presided over their captivity, and did so with such glee. CM-US trials. Without meaning to, he glanced at Admiral ZEX at those words, and away again when "re-trials" were mentioned. What did that mean? It wasn't ( Read more... )

[Stomping in from here.]

Leaving ZEX behind, Sechs stormed down the hall as his mind buzzed with overwhelming chagrin over what just happened. Great, so much for learning a new battle technique from an ally...

The dark voice in Sechs' head on the other hand took great amusement in his humiliation. "HAH!" its laughter barked loudly in Sechs' ears, "Nice going there, you dumb little copy!"

"Sh-Shut up!" Sechs snarled at the invisible stalker, "You were quiet before, so why can't you just keep your mouth shut now?!"

He quickened his pace down the hall, hoping to distance himself from his chaotic feelings, but the drug had other plans. The substance living inside Sechs' back froze up and solidified the bones it occupied. In the darkness, the Replica gave out a pained grunt and nearly toppled forward as he felt his back go completely rigid and ice cold. Dropping his flashlight, Sechs slumped to the side against the wall before falling down to his knees. Gasping, Sechs tried to scramble back up but his legs refused to respond. He was stuck with his damned shadowy conscious...

With its host immobilized, the darkness dropped over Sechs like a hawk descending upon a helpless mouse. "That's because since you wouldn't listen to me before," the dark being chuckled in Sechs' ears, "I thought I'd just let you see for yourself just how dumb you really are!"

As the drug taunted him, Sechs struggled to pull himself up to his feet with the aid of his axe, but the deep chill in his body caused him to shiver too violently to get a good grip. "No... I'm not...!"

"You'll never learn that you can't win!" the shadow snarled, "You hear me? You were never meant to win!"

Then the darkness grew solid and Sechs saw nothing more.
