Nightshift 46: File Room 1

[from here]

Klavier opened the door with a good deal less caution than he normally would have. After all, the door had been locked. Unless someone had gone through the trouble of purposely placing something dangerous in here before locking up, the room would very likely be empty. Nevertheless, he made an effort to close the door behind him quietly. Quick examination proved him right: there didn't seem to be anyone or anything here as far as he could see. So he could just concentrate on looking around.

The filing cabinets made the room feel obscenely small, cramped enough to make the file room at the L.A. Police Department seem like a luxury suite. He wrinkled his nose slightly at the sensation but otherwise tried not to react to the sense of claustrophobia closing in around him. Thankfully, the prospect of reading through files was enough to keep him from focusing on it too much.

He moved closer to the cabinets, frowning a bit at the labels. No, they didn't specify which cabinet held what information (he wouldn't be that lucky). Instead, he occasionally caught sight of... letters? They were alphabetized, then. He had to wonder. Did that mean these were...? He automatically moved to the "G" section and pulled at the drawer. Locked. Of course.
