"There are few people here, especially humans, comfortable knowing a death god is sharing a meal with them... touching them," Momo replied with a glance up at Alkaid. "And so forth. I've found most humans don't believe me, but that's alright. I've gotten used to it."

Taking her hand away from the rotting skin, Momo got to her feet. "Unfortunately, I cannot do anything about the infection. The broken bone, I can, but there is a complication I need you to understand, Alkaid-san. Normally, it is not an issue, but given your current condition, it is something I must warn you about before."

Momo thought about how to phrase it without accidentally insulting Alkaid's ability to control herself. "Like you, this is not my own body, but a flesh and blood shell that contains my spirit. The problem is this body wasn't designed to contain reiatsu at the level I possess it. Because of that, anytime I utilize my reiatsu, this body suffers a degree of damage." She paused. "Healing your arm will not cause me anything more than a bloody nose. Superficial, yes, but I will bleed."

Fresh blood. "Do you find this to be a concern?"

"Well, just a glance at your powers and they should be convinced, right? I mean, while it's tempting to decorate the past when you're talkin' about it, I don't think any normal person is going to come out and say that they're shinigami, of all things." Alkaid spoke pretty level-headedly, especially since she'd earlier been tempted to brag that she was an actual emperor. Of course, she hadn't been able to follow up on that, but no one would look at her and actually think she was an emperor, right? ...Uh, probably. She didn't know how regal she came off.

She was pretty glad Hinamori had taken her hand, however gentle, off the broken, blackening skin. But when the girl started to explain the effects of the power, Alkaid's expression darkened, and she looked at her directly. Yeah... this could get pretty dangerous, all things considered. And she didn't want to bite someone who'd just healed her... that'd be terrible!!

When she'd finished explaining, Alkaid crossed her arms. "Well... yeah, I do, actually. Nothing against you, but this zombie thing is confusing, and when I think it's gone away, it just comes back again - I never know how hungry I'm gonna get. So... here's my idea."

She stood up, walking toward the doorway. "Now, don't get me wrong - I'll say thank you now, and I'll say thank you later. But I think what would work out best is if you did the healing and then slammed the door on me. Quicker than I can react. I'll pinch my nose so I don't smell it."

That way, Alkaid would have enough time to get away from the potential smell of fresh blood, and Hinamori would be safe. If a little held up.

"You'd be surprised how much the human mind resists acknowledging things such as me, even when I use kidou." And that was all she was going to say on that matter.

Momo thought Alkaid's plan was a little extreme, the shinigami was more than capable of defending herself against a ravenous human girl, but if this is how Alkaid wanted to handle things...

"Very well, if that is what you wish," Momo replied, joining the girl at the door. "I believe you are stronger than that, but I do not want to trouble you any more than necessary."

The shinigami opened the door and gave Alkaid a small smile. "Let me know when you are ready."

"Huh? Well, I mean, I guess it's a silly idea - walking around with shinigami, or whatever. But if the proof's right there, then I don't see what's stopping 'em from just believing. Human beings are pretty stubborn - sorry." It was stupid to even waste time on trying to prove something wrong if the positive evidence for it was just right there. Alkaid would much rather just move on to the next subject.

And the compliment was nice, but so unnecessary - cause strength was something both physical and mental. "Well, you know what? I know I'm pretty strong, too; that's why you gotta close it. Because you look delicious," she said with a completely straight face. "Fresh meat. And I hate myself for thinking that, you know? But I don't want to waste your time or mine with some silly attack."

It was just practical to do it this way. Even if it was a little less personable, Alkaid would rather not accidentally lunge at Hinamori and end up getting slashed with a sword. That would just defeat the purpose of her arm getting healed!

She smiled at Hinamori for the last time tonight, then held her nose with her free hand. "Thenks," she said in a comically nasal voice. "I'b ready."

Momo gave a chuckle when Alkaid spoke of the shinigami as a prime piece of meat. It was somewhat amusing to her, more with the way the girl's personality seemed to be, and she simply shook her head a little. It was well enough, this way as Momo did not want to have to use the energy needed to paralyze Alkaid should she attack.

Covering a snicker with a hand at the way the girl sounded with her nose pinched, Momo gently placed her hands on Alkaid's shoulders and guided her to turn around, so her back was to Momo.

"It'll feel warm, and there will be a bit of a glow," Momo explained softly, as she shifted her one hand from Alkaid's shoulder to the center of her cast.

Quietly, Momo spoke the short incantation, feeling her reiatsu seep into the girl's arm and wrap about the break in the bone. A soft pink glow surrounded the shinigami's hand as she wove her reiatsu into the bone, stimulating it to regenerate. Halfway through the healing, Momo felt a stab of a headache and the familiar sensation of blood slowly dripping from her nose.

Thankfully, being a simple fracture, the healing process didn't take long - no more than a minute. As soon as Momo was certain the bone was completely repaired, she withdrew her reiatsu and gave Alkaid a firm push forward to distance the girl into the hall. She felt bad doing so, but this was the girl's decision.

Bringing the torn piece of cloth up to her bleeding nose, she went to close the door. "Be safe tonight, Yowatashi Boshi," she called softly just before the door clicked shut.

"We'll beet again," Alkaid said finally, her last nasal words before Hinamori's hand glanced across her shoulder, and landed on the cast. She turned to look pointedly into the hallway; she didn't know when the blood was going to start, or if it was going to hurt, or anything.

It was a minute of bracing herself, stiffening up considerably as she smelled the blood that was beginning to drip down from Hinamori's nose, like a fine wine before a good human-thigh steak. Or - ugh, why was it taking so long? Each second was utterly agonizing in regards to her willpower, and Alkaid found her breathing growing a little ragged. She kept telling herself to wait just a little bit longer, and then... the glow faded, and a push sent her forward a couple of steps.

The click of the door sounded behind her, and the smell of delicious blood thankfully went away, leaving Alkaid's tummy rumbling. She supposed there was no way to take off the cast, even though the bone was healed, but now she knew that she could take a hit or two without complications. And the cast would act as armor until she got it off.

Ah... healed! Excellent. She'd have to find something nice to do for Hinamori sometime, in return.

"Thank you, shinigami," Alkaid called through the door. "Won't forget it."

And then she was gone. She had a wild Haseo to track down.

Alkaid's words drifted to Momo as she leaned against the inside of her door, cloth to her nose as she staunched the blood flow. Maybe she should introduce Alkaid to Hokuto. The two of them seemed to possess the same spunk. Then again, maybe they wouldn't get along because of that. Huh. She could actually see them getting into arguments over silly things.

Ah, to be young again...

Rubbing her temple, she checked her nose to find the bleeding had stopped. Good. This meant she could get going to meet Shikamaru's group. She didn't want to keep them waiting any more than necessary. Taking Laevatein up, Momo wrapped the broken blade in cloth whispering an apology to the weapon, before stowing it away under her mattress. It felt weird leaving it in the room, but as long as it was damaged, there was no reason to bring it along.

Situating her katana across her back, Momo was ready to go and a quick glance outside told her Alkaid had moved on. Quietly, Momo headed out.
