Nightshift 43: Courtyard

Landing in the courtyard, Yousuke immediately had his flashlight out, checking the grounds for anything that might jump right out at them. The chances of any place outside being safe enough for him and Souji to have their conversation in peace were slim, but this would at least get them away from whatever was in the yard they'd come from.
Hopefully.
He motioned for his friend to follow him, even though the action wouldn't be necessary. There was no sign of anything yet, but that didn't mean much around here. At least the fact that there weren't any zombies popping up around their feet tonight was a plus. He'd be perfectly content never having another night like that as long as he lived.
"Keep an eye out for trouble. We don't need any more surprises."
