Meche was up and ready to go as soon as the door clicked open--the sooner she got there, the sooner they could start. She double-checked the map one more time, said goodbye to Donna and headed out, feeling better about that prospect than she ever had before. Her heels clicked reassuringly as she hurried down the hall, sounding fast and confident.

When nightshift actually came around, though, Mitsuru found she just wanted to rest. But before that, there was something that she needed to hand over. Hopefully Takeba wouldn't mind not having any forewarning that she'd be stopping by to hand over the Evoker. As she stepped out of her room, Mitsuru thought that she saw something flickering, but when she looked the wall seemed perfectly normal. She had to just be seeing things. But it couldn't hurt to be cautious.

Fortunately, the distance between where they started and their destination wasn't that far off, so Anise would've been glad to know that the God-General didn't plan on keeping their arms interlocked for long.
"Be on your best behavior," Sync warned, giving the Guardian a stern look before letting go of her completely. Of course, he still expected for her to stay at his side, but for the moment he was more interested in the room numbers than her. He continued along until he found the right room, clearing his throat before knocking gently on the door.
"Dahlia, it's me Sync," He began, voice now transformed into a softer, gentler version of how he usually spoke. The God-General figured that Dahlia would be smart enough not to blow her cover if he kept his act up; after all, that would completely ruin all his fun.
"I've brought someone else along if that's all right."

He brought someone else? Oh, and neglected to tell her beforehand on top of that. Tch. What a pain. She was smart enough to take the hint with his voice that this wasn't a casual trip between "friends" anymore.
"Oh! Hello." She opened the door and peered through it. What a useless looking girl and the brunette looked like an idiot too. What was the point of dragging her along? A meatshield for her meatshield? She put on a warm smile and held out her hand, pushing the door open fully to greet and be merry. "My name's Dahlia. Dahlia Hawthorne. It's nice to meet you!"
Giggle. "Sy didn't tell me he'd be bringing his girlfriend. It's so nice to see the two of you together!"

The person he was meeting was a girl? It was a bit of a surprise, but at least it meant she was close by. When the door opened, Anise quickly put on a friendlier face than what she had been using for Sync. If she gave Sync away with her scowling, the hostage would be in danger. Still, it felt kind of gross to put on a cutesy act in front of Sync.
"I'm Anise. Likewise!" she greeted with a cheerful smile, taking the other girl's hand for a small handshake. Wow, she looked frail. It didn't look like Sync planned on using her for anything besides being a hostage.
Wait a minute. Girlfriend!? "Wh-where'd you get that idea!? We're nothing like that at all!" Anise cried in protest, trying to sound more flustered than repulsed. The thought of it was beyond ridiculous. And damn it, how many times ( ... )

"No, it's nothing like that!" Sync tried his best to look embarrassed, laughing lightly before sighing wistfully.
"I mean, someone already beat me to her…" Sync answered in a disappointed tone, all the while gracing Anise with a teasing smile. "But that's fine. I don't mind staying good friends."
He figured that their introductions were done for now, and so he stepped back and began to walk back down the hall.
"Anyway, we should get going. There weren't many people out last time I checked so maybe we can still beat some of the rush."

Daphne hurried down toward the end of the hallway, where she had been certain she'd seen...something. At first she'd thought it had been a door opening, but that couldn't possibly be. There wasn't one at the end of those halls, and the play of her flashlight over blank wall confirmed it.
Was she really tired enough to be hallucinating? Daphne frowned at the blank wall, in the empty hallway, the hairs on the back of her neck standing slowly on end. Okay, so she had some experience with seeing things that weren't there, what with Linderman and all, but this was just weird.
Maybe you're just cracking up. Funny, how her own thoughts sounded like Knox when she was pissed off at herself for chasing off after something stupid down an empty hallway.

Although he'd done it often enough, finding someone to feed off of in a cell block had its risks; they were only more apparent when Aidou recognized full well that he wasn't at his...
... most clear-headed.
What he needed was blood, healthy blood, not the kind that oozed from the walls and coated the landscape and came out of undead zombies to stain his claws and make him stink. The fact that he didn't have an opportunity to wash it all off only added to the itch in the back of his throat ( ... )

At the moment, though shock overrode anything that might resemble a genuine thought process. She uttered a little gasp, not even really a cry, as her nerves jangled with disjointed impulses that sent bright spots flickering across her vision, and her knees tried to buckle out beneath her.

At least this vampire was far more kind than any zombie or night time horror she was bound to meet.
Catching the female up against him, he pinned her body with one arm, and used his free hand to cover her mouth. It was different, being able to hear the rush of blood in her veins--excited by surprise--and having the chance to act on it. To sate his ever-present appetite. Sating it completely wasn't possible, but he could at least tamp down the worst of his hunger so that the prisoners' open wounds didn't provoke him so badly. Temper-wise or not.
He bowed his head. So close...
First, though, was carrying her to a better place than this, out in the open where anyone or anything had a chance to stumble across them. Occupied rooms were part of what made the area risky, but when ( ... )
