The last thing Terry remembered was going over a check-list for the next day: the homework he hadn't done, the tests he hadn't studied for, the classes he couldn't fall asleep for the hundredth time in. He'd have to put up a good front for Dana; part of Terry wanted to tell her the truth, and for a minute, he thought that maybe he could. Kairi had been old, and it wasn't like half the school didn't know how much of his time Terry spent with geezers anymore. But would letting out even a part really be worth it? Saying that Kairi had been one of the old man's friends wouldn't come close to explaining why Terry was upset over her passing. And he couldn't come out and say that the woman had become his teacher so he could be a better Batman ( ... )

"Can't say that I do. So why don't you tell me what's going on?" Not that Terry expected the all too happy lady to actually tell the truth. Her smile almost matched the one on Terry's shirt, something he found more than a little creepy. Already his mind was going over the list of just who might be responsible for this. Spellbinder seemed the most likely; messing with heads was his forte, and he'd been pretty quiet lately. Probably was about time for another 'get back at the guy who foiled my evil plot' attempt ( ... )

As Sam woke up, he thought there'd been some kind of apocalypse. If he'd decided to lie perfectly still with his eyes closed and analyse his surroundings, he probably would have attributed this to the quiet humming he could hear, which was not at all like the sound of cars and the occasional scream or gunshots that he normally woke up to. The harsh, direct light and the disinfectant smell were also unusual, and there was a persistant but impossible to pin down feeling of wrongness.

But Sam didn't bother to do any of that. He just opened his eyes.

"What the-?"

He wasn't in his bed, and he wasn't even in his bedroom. Sam sat up and looked around wildly, but before he could really take in what he was seeing, he noticed the out of focus pinkish blob in the centre of his vision. What had happened to his nose? Sam grabbed his face and, seeing his hands, blurted out "Holy whitewater canoe tours down the Amazon River!" He'd woken up in some sort of... hospital, maybe?, and now he wasn't his handsome, canine self? Those hands looked like ( ... )

Dory woke up and stretched without opening her eyes. She'd been dreaming of taking her special squishy on a trip to Sydney. She wasn't quite sure where Sydney was, but her squishy had liked it, and so had she. Time to begin another day. While she stretched, a very strong sense of something wrong settled into her mind. She forgot a lot of things, but not so easily who or what she was. The cool feeling of the water against her sides and face was missing. Where was the water?!Her eyes popped open. She flailed, fighting with something wrapped around her fins, while she gasped and tried to flop over onto her side. She whooped and gagged, trying to find the oxygen in the dry atmosphere filling her throat. She was far too panicked to realize that she wasn't actually suffocating. She whipped her head around trying to see everything at once. Why were her eyes stuck only looking forward? she blinked, but that strange narrowed vision remained. And she still couldn't see any water ( ... )

Claire groaned in her bed and made to turn over for some more sleep before realization hit her and her eyes flew open.

The car. Oh, crap.

Claire rubbed her head, trying to remember what happened. She'd been driving off to catch an inmate named Stephen and then...she must have fallen asleep at the wheel (although she didn't remember feeling tired). Was this a hospital? There wasn't any equipment around, not like the last time she'd gotten into an accident. Not that she needed it-- it was the car she was worried about. Maybe if the damage wasn't so bad, she could help pay it off.

She was still going to get killed when she got home, though.

A nurse walked in, interrupting her train of thought. She was looking at her clipboard, not at Claire, and she seemed to be very invested in whatever was written down.

"Now that you're awake, Miss Price, we can take you to the cafeteria if you're at all hungry, but you can also enjoy the Sun Room or Chapel if you wish," now the nurse did look at Claire, peering over her glasses. "It's your ( ... )

The lights in Kim's living room were dimmed. Everyone was standing around him in a big semi-circle: Wallace, Stephen Stills, Julie, Kim, Kim's roommate, that one guy with the beard (was he Kim's other roommate?), Young Neil, Knives, Mario, Sonic, Samus, Link, Alex, Ryan, Pit, Mega Man, Simon Belmont - everyone. Something seemed a little off about that, but Scott didn't let it bother him. He was too busy looking at the middle of the circle, where Ramona stood facing him with a smile on her face. Her long green hair glimmered in the light of the candles on the cake she held ( ... )

"All right, Bryan it is, then. So where's here?" he asked the woman, taking note of her loose-fitting outfit. She looked like a nurse, which made sense given that the room was starting to look more like it belonged in a hospital ( ... )
