His hands had slipped more times that he liked to admit, but when his fingers gripped the edge of the roof, he felt something akin to victory flood him. Pushing with his legs, he pulled himself up, struggling more than he liked in order to get himself up over the edge and onto the rooftop. He was a samurai, not a ninja, and doing these things were difficult enough when he was in top form, to say nothing of when he wasn't. Adrenaline did wonders, however, and even as he hit the top, he rolled to his feet and took stock of the rooftop.
Yuffie had secured it well - there was nothing here that seemed to indicate a breach in security down below and other than the smoke and fire next door, he saw no danger. Nothing to fight here, but they still had a man on the ground. Turning, Okita headed back to the edge and grabbed a rock from his sling, aiming it a creature coming for Homura's back. He fired it off with precision and then readied a second.
Until everyone was upstairs and safe, he wouldn't speak. Distracting allies during a battle was fatal, and right now all eyes needed to be below.
