Dayshift 22: Chapel

Claire woke up in her room just like before, with little idea of how she actually got there. This time, though, she noticed something different about the room. There was another young woman, a blond, sleeping in a bed across from her. Before questioning that, though, she made sure to hide the items she'd gotten that night in her closet, shutting ( Read more... )

"I can usually sense other beings' Force signatures," Obi-Wan explained. "But I'd equate that more with 'spirit' than any sort of chain. It's not as easy for me to do ever since I arrived here, though. I have to think on it more, so it becomes a little tiring if I'm constantly reaching out for everyone around me." The only person he could sense with relative ease was Qui-Gon, but so far he'd only managed it if he knew without a doubt the man was nearby. Otherwise he was fairly certain he would have figured out Qui-Gon was here far sooner than he had.

He stopped speaking when he realized Renji was upset about his comment earlier, and he wisely decided to back off from the subject. Obi-Wan didn't quite understand why the red-haired man was so rankled - he had healed Nowe, and it had depleted him, no matter how much he tried to brush off both facts.

He didn't appreciate the glare Renji shot at him, either. But he managed to hold his tongue and keep his face neutral. It wasn't worth getting into an argument over.

"Jedi like myself use the Force to help others and try to maintain peaceful interplanetary relations," Obi-Wan explained, glad to have a subject change. "Not all Force-sensitives become Jedi, though. Many choose to become things like medics, teachers, farmers and explorers." He wanted to mention that what Renji had done last night sounded like something a skilled Force-sensitive Healer would do, but he didn't want to upset Renji further than he already had.
