here]As she neared the big doors to the Sun Room, Anise's pace slowed to a stop. This part of the hall was eerily quiet. Could she really be the first one there? It was a good thing, since it meant she had probably gotten there well before that Wonka guy, but it also made her a little nervous. If there were monsters lurking around, she was

Allen continued on, noticing how few patients were this far just yet and hoping he wouldn't slow Sora down. If Sora would still be waiting for him. After last night and no notes today, he couldn't be sure.

Allen bolted back through the fairly empty hallway; at least he hadn't wasted much time. Would Sora have waited? Would he even be there? Allen would only know for sure when he finally got to the meeting point.

The longer Nathan stayed out, however, the more foolish he felt. He didn't know where he was going, really, and he had no real objectives. He kept telling himself to keep moving, but why? What was there to find? Sure, he had hardly seen the entire place during that day -- he was beginning to feel like the place was massive -- but he didn't really think he was going to find a way out.
Unless he could get back to the courtyard -- to fresh air -- and fly out. But where would he go? Back home? Obviously, Heidi had committed him here, so he was pretty sure that he wouldn't be welcome in their home. And Ma? Well, Nathan wasn't really ready to go down that avenue just yet. He didn't have any other place, unless Peter would let him stay with--
Nathan stopped, almost mid-stride, suddenly, his stomach dropping.
Peter's dead, he reminded himself ( ... )

Didn't the word ninja imply being a private person? Sheena had always thought so given how much secrecy was tied into the ninja ways and how someone had to marry into the village to even learn more than the very basics. Sheena always figured they didn't have to marry into the village to learn the basics since those were picked up pretty easily after the first ten or so encounters with ninja, so it'd be kind of pointless.
Once in front of the Sun Room doors, Sheena slowed down again for the youkai. "So, you didn't answer me before, so I'll ask again. Is this what you really look like?"

"Did we not finish that conversation? Oh right, we had to go get you elbowed in the face by some panicking child," she said, the sarcasm in her tone the only hint that she might actually resent the incident. She turned to face the ninja, expression oddly serious, something dark about her expression that had nothing to do with the lack of light. "Well, how would you feel if I said no?"

Huh. Is it really that simple? Huh. Must be."Well, I'd be curious what your true form is," Sheena replied. "As for how I'd feel?" She raised a hand to gently put two fingers on Yukari's face by the corner of her eye as she searched for the right words to express herself. "I would feel the same as I do now. Yukari the youkai is still Yukari even if she isn't really doesn't have the shape I am looking at now. It doesn't matter what form you really have, I ( ... )

"Such an honest reply!" she chuckled, moving to open the door. She gave the ninja a smile from over her shoulder before heading in. "But I guess that's one of the things I like about you."

The path leading to their designated meeting place was full of faces and voices that didn’t concern Aidou--he had something to do that night, with someone, a repayment for things he didn’t like thinking about.
He ignored the two familiar faces, content with sticking to the dark and remaining unnoticed. Taking up position in the corner created by the protruding lounge wall, the vampire waited silently with an eye on the western branch of corridor. Hmm… What would the night bring? So far it seemed calm for himself and those around him. Calm, and uneventful, as far as Landel’s ever was with the constant smell of putrid blood in the air. Calm, as far as kin slaying and bounty hunters went.
He drew his tongue along one fang, eyes shadowed.

Sasuke slowed as he approached the rendezvous point. Ideally, Aidou would already be present and ready to go, but in case there was a discrepancy in time of some sort, Sasuke moved deliberately and listened as closely as he could for the sounds of approaching footsteps. That was the main problem inherent in choosing such a well-frequented area to meet, but it was too conveniently located and relatively less dangerous to ignore as an option.
From here ... there was the practical purpose of making sure the Institute had as little information about any Uchiha as possible. Beyond that, Sasuke's motives were murky even to Sasuke himself.

This way, they had their pick of stairwells to take, because although each led to the second floor, there were different areas to traverse to get to them and to the corridor they wanted, like the balcony upstairs, which had been the hunting ground for that spirit woman once upon a time. He didn’t see anything down the east side of the hall on this floor… But before that, there was something worth bringing up while there was still a lull to take advantage of.
“I don’t suppose you were keeping tabs on your bulletin note to me once we had finished our exchange?”

... although perhaps there were other setbacks that might be anticipated. Sasuke blinked, then frowned slightly at the question.
"I didn't," he said. It was enough trouble managing that simple conversatoin as it was. "Did something come up?"
