West Wing, Hall 2-A

As he talked, Forte became much louder as his pride overrode caution. "I was built by Dr. Wily (the only thing he ever did right), to be the most powerful Super Fighting Robot in existence, so I could destroy the world's hero, Rock Man. He was the strongest, but I was built to be faster, stronger, more powerful than him in every way. If ( Read more... )

Forte should have been more careful. Speaking so loudly about his own importance was bound to pull attention, especially the negative kind. And it most certainly did pull attention. In sharp contrast to Forte, she was silent as she moved along the ceiling one foot placed carefully after the other. She was silent and deadly and smart and she knew that the patients beneath her were as deadly as she was if she wasn't careful.

And she was always careful. Setting her anchors down across the ceiling, she built her web and then waited, dark eyes watching Forte's every move. A little closer, and little further down the hall and she'd have him.

Joshua had been about to ask, 'A robot?' but then Forte began explaining very, very thoroughly. Very much so. To be honest, it sounded like something that would come in an anime or a bad live-action series; 'Rockman,' 'Gospel,' and 'Dr. Wily'? Still, while to an outside observer it might seem like Joshua was barely paying attention, in actuality he was fully alert. This was, after all, nothing compared to dealing with a full-on Slammurai. "Oh, so you were made to fight the 'hero'? No wonder your creator would put so much effort into you ( ... )

Forte stopped walking to look up where Joshua was looking. "Finally, a real fight." He glanced quickly around the room - he'd actually just passed the first door, which was supposed to be their destination. But he wasn't sure where the creature that had made the webbing was. Besides, he was finally going to get to fight, and be ready for it this time. He held his flashlight firmly, and followed the web down the down the ceiling with the light.

The light came up and the spider scuttled silently away, leaving no trace besides the web that she was there. Her specialty was stealth, after all and getting caught in the flashlight would be quite detrimental to her strategy. Then again, they were going to be on alert anyway, so why give them anymore time than they'd already had?

She was already ahead of them, so she fell from the ceiling, tripping the anchor of her web and dropping it down at them like a giant net. The threads were strong enough to catch the strongest prey and all she needed was a moment of hesitation on their part. If she could get a bite in, then her poison would do the rest. Rushing forward, the spider punched one strong leg forward, aiming at Forte's arm and his flashlight.

This hall was almost empty. Except for a few humans, and... what were they looking at? Albedo glanced upwards as well, catching sight of what they were staring at. His eyes briefly widened.

Monsters it was. But overgrown spiders? Those weren't half as bad as what he'd experienced. Regardless, he knew he couldn't access his power to defend himself, and he still needed to clean the plant stuff off of him so he could heal. He quickly slunk into the bathroom nearby.

"I am sorry we went astray. Tis completely my fault." He looked especially at Alec as he spoke, even though he moved into the new hall--hopefully the correct on this time. "I get carried away." He wanted to say so much more to Alec, but he founds it difficult to get the words to come.

"I have this plan of something I want to do, and I want you all to help as you can, if you will. You can defend yourselves. Some of us aren't as good at that. I'm going to recruit couriers. Messengers. Some of us will need defenders, bodyguards if you will."

Trevelyan shrugged. "Gas seemed to be the most logical explanation." He'd seen too many people die that way.

When Armand started to speak about his plan, he was immediately interested. "Go on," he prompted, trying to provide what encouragement he could.

The spider up ahead was being such a beast. It wasn't playing at all even though it had two people to play with. Two! What a greedy thing ( ... )

TK kept his focus on the hall ahead, carefully focusing on the commotion he could just make out in the dark, and--

He thought he'd seen something a lot closer, just out of the corner of his eye. When he looked, there wasn't anything there, but there were footsteps that couldn't be accounted for. "We need to keep moving." Under most circumstances he might have dismissed it as just hearing things, but this place didn't work by those normal rules.
