Naminé realized all too late when she returned to her room that she had neglected to ask where Kairi's room was. There was a good chance that she was close by, but at the same time... there was a chance she was all the way in the very last halls. Or maybe she had already left

Kiden had almost been waiting for it, with some edge of anticipation. She wasn't sure why, but the prospect of a night (hopefully sans bugs) would be better than the days. Not that she had anything against the days, but ... that thought hung as she picked up the flashlight and walked into the hall.
What she had gathered throughout the day unnerved her. The idea that her 'power' was 'dampened' whatever that meant. She picked a direction and headed down the hallway, flashlight off, staying close to the wall.
Someone else was there, but they looked rather short as she neared them. "...hey..." She said softly, but her voice sounded too loud in the quiet hallway.

"Hello! Are you looking for someone?" She asked, wondering if this girl was also supposed to meet someone. Well, perhaps this girl had seen Kairi or Roxas, at the very least... even if she did not, Naminé wouldn't have minded the company.

Then she held out her hand. "...Kiden. I don't think we've met before?" Wasn't she all nice tonight.

"I'm Naminé," She smiled, taking Kiden's hand and shaking it briefly. Kiden... the name didn't ring any bells. Naminé could only assume that she simply had missed this girl or the girl was new. "I don't think we have... but it's nice to meet you anyway."

She would like to find Barret, but had the sneaking suspicion the man wouldn't care for her just appearing up and the like. He was looking after and for his own friends that were here.

"If that wouldn't be too much trouble for you... I'd like that very much!" Naminé gave a relieved smile, glad that she wouldn't have to travel alone. "I'm... I'm looking for a girl with red hair named Kairi and a boy with spiky blond hair named Roxas. I... I'm not sure what their room numbers are. I neglected to ask," Naminé admitted, a little shamefully.

"An' of course it isn't any trouble. Like I said, it's not like I'm doing anything," She also though, took a quick look around. Hopefully none of those bugs would be around tonight.

Of course, this strategy could lead her to bump into something less pleasant.
"OK... thank you for your help," Naminé gave Kiden a slight bow of appreciation. She started to walk down the hall again, flashlight searching for another sign of (hopefully benign) life.
"You can stay with us if you want! The more people we have, the safer we are... I think."

She smiled a bit to herself at Namine's offer, continuing to follow the girl down the hall. "...someone else told me that too. I don't want to hinder you any."

"Um, I've seen a few... three times, really," Naminé was thankful she could count the number of monsters she had seen with one hand. "A giant spider, a ... another patient, I think, and a creature that looked like one of the nurses."
She shook her head to Kiden's concerns that the girl would hinder her group. "No, no, not at all. I don't have any weapons, so I'm afraid I'd be the one hindering you, really..."
Reply
Well, she didn't have any weapons either. Kiden took a few faster steps to be even with Namine. "...a guy I met told me that we all have 'abilities'. I don't want to pry..." She let it hang.

"Oh!" She wasn't expecting anyone to be out here, but after what that one guy said… Alyssa looked at the girls in the hall, waving the pen wielding hand in meek greeting. "H-hello."
Maybe this communication thing would work out better than last night.

She had eaten her meal with gusto, still trying to go through all that she heard today. People from hundreds of years ago...a mind reader like River...it was a lot to swallow, but Kaylee didn't want to let it dampen her appetite. She could ask the Captain ab
Soon, the now familiar voice at the intercom and the click of doors being unlocked heralded the start of Nightshift, and she ventured out. Kaylee told herself that she wasn't going to go very far...just hang around while she waited for the Captain and Inara and everyone else.
And she didn't go very far. Standing only a few feet away were several girls...the oldest of whom looked about River's age.
"Hey there."

"Abilities? I know many people do, but here, they are all useless to us. So it doesn't really matter if you had powers or not before coming here," Naminé explained, hoping to ease some of Kiden's... concerns, maybe?
"My own powers are useless, at any rate."
Just then, two more girls approached. Naminé was just about to jump again before realizing that they were also human, and perhaps just as lost as they were.
"Oh, hello there!"

She turned her head to look at the two who had joined them. She had settled back a bit, cautious but not nearly as jumpy as Namine. However, they turned out to be people and not monsters.
"...hey," She offered.

'So you suggest putting bells on everyone? I don't think that'd go as smooth as you'd think, Alyssa.'
"So, um… Hi," she began, doing her best to ignore Bates' commentary.
'I could make a better introduction if I was in a room full of dead people. In fact, I have.'
It, uh… wasn't working so well. She visibly flinched, biting down the bad memories as though they were bile. "I'm Alyssa. Alyssa Hale." shutupbatesshutupshutupshutup
