Toboe slid to a stop in front of what he thought was M23, waiting a minute or two to fully examine the number and compare it to the rumpled sheet of paper still clenched in his hand. Well, it looked right.
Satisfied, Toboe nodded and knocked on the door. He didn't want to just barge in unannounced...
Hitsugaya had slept away the entirety of his dinner, which was fine. He didn't really want to deal with Sanzo--the man had disappeared again anyways--and his stomach revolted at the thought of real food at this point anyways
( ... )
Unfortunately for Hitsugaya, Toboe still had a far and away better nose than any human ever did, but he did know better than to point out that Hitsugaya smelled like sickness. He just looked concerned--it could have been concern for the other man for all Hitsugaya knew.
Hitsugaya stepped out into the hallway and leaned against the wall. Thankfully leaning against the wall as he waited for his team was part of his normal routine. He could easily use it to hide the fact that tonight he was using the wall as a form of support. He probably could have managed to stand until Artemis showed up, but he knew the value of conserving his energy.
For the time being he also left his light off, relying on the light of others in the hall to provide faint illumination for him.
"If I say to run," Hitsugaya explained to Toboe briefly. "You run. You don't look back, you don't wait for me. Meet up back here if we have to."
Toboe hesitated briefly before nodding, only after the fact realizing that Hitsugaya may not have seen the motion in the darkness. "Right," he spoke up softly. He crouched in the hallway, staring off into the shadows toward the main hall. He could at least start keeping his eyes and ears out for anything threatening.
"Telling another hapless victim the ropes, Captain?" Artemis called down the hallway. The boy sauntered out of the darkness towards Hitsugaya and a yet unnamed boy. The boy's expression was pulled a little thin, but it was clear that he was trying to put whatever had bothered him away. He smiled down at the mystery member. "Artemis Fowl the Second, a pleasure.
"So," he looked up at Hitsugaya, trying to assess the Captain's state in the dark. "Where is this little rescue party bound for?"
Hitsugaya nodded to Artemis as he approached. "You look foul, Fowl." He smirked a little at his private joke, then shrugged it off as he stood up and turned on his light. The drugs were obviously still coursing through his system, affecting not only his ability to control his outbursts but also his sense of humor. Really, who told jokes like that?
"Artemis Fowl, this is Toboe. Toboe, Artemis Fowl," he introduced the two of them, forcing himself to focus on the task at hand. "We're going to be getting in contact with Abarai tonight and looking after him. Since we're not trying to get anywhere important, I don't anticipate we'll run into any trouble; however, err on the side of caution and don't do anything dumb."
He swayed ever so slightly, but bit his lip to draw his attention back to the present.
"I'll answer questions along the way if you have any," he said, then proceeded out into the hallway.

The wolf just nodded. "Alright."
