Nightshift 34: M81-M90 Hallway

The moment the doors unlocked, Peter was rushing out of his, suited up and flashlight in hand. He knew that it would do no good to panic, but he couldn't help it. The longer he had been forced to wait in that room on his own, the more he had thought about what they might be doing to Logan.

He needed to get the word out to someone, and Statesman ( Read more... )

Just a few moments after Parker had stepped outside, Statesman emerged from his room. He was a bit surprised to see the kid out there before him, especially without Logan.

The two of them usually emerged together after Marcus. He didn't want to jump to conclusions, but there weren't be that many reasons Parker would be out here waiting alone for him, and most of them were in varying degrees of bad.

"Where's Logan?" Marcus asked, not looking forward to the answer.

Glad he didn't have to wait long, Peter quickly moved over to Statesman, trying to keep himself calm as the question was asked. At least they wouldn't be wasting any time.

"He got taken," he said. "Special counseling. I don't know where he'll be, but..." This was the point he had been arguing with himself over for the past half hour or so. "It might be best if we don't go looking for him. He's going to try and attack us, and I know he won't want to face that in the morning."

Not that attacking other patients who he didn't know was going to be any better, but Peter figured that injuring his friends might do more damage in the end. He really hoped Logan could handle it, but he had been through this sort of thing before. Though Peter doubted that made it any easier even if he was "used" to it.

He hoped Harry got here soon. They needed to figure out what they were doing, considering this new development.

After he heard Parker confirm his fears about what had happened to Logan, Marcus nodded. He knew how much it had bothered him last night to fight the young girl. The thought that Logan would be out there tonight, forced to attack innocent people was really more than Marcus could take on top of the constant stress of this place ( ... )

As Statesman took a moment to accept the news and take out his frustration, Peter remained where he was, not even flinching when the other man attacked the wall. He knew what it was like to have anger bubble up like that and almost consume you, and he could relate to how the other man was feeling all too well ( ... )

M84, M84, where was-? Walking along, checking off each room number, it took Harry a couple of seconds to recognise the figures ahead of him in the darkness. Only two of them, but Peter was there so it probably had nothing to do with looking for him.

Coming up alongside them, he frowned slightly as he caught sight of an impressive dent in the wall by Statesman. Something seemed off here, like both of them were distracted by something. Maybe short and hairy had just gotten sick of waiting and had run off. Whatever it was, it couldn't be important.

Grinning at Peter, he was getting more accustomed to seeing the mask already, Harry asked cheerily, "Hey, did I keep you waiting long?"

Of course, Harry didn't know, but Marcus couldn't help but be irritated by his good mood. "No, but we should get moving..." Marcus really didn't want to talk about why Logan wasn't with them.

"Logan... was taken by the hospital. We don't know where he is," And Marcus really wanted to hit something a with a bit more fight in it than sheet rock. "And it would probably be best if we didn't run into him tonight."

Despite the fact that he kept telling himself that, it was hard to believe. Marcus wanted to go find him and make sure Logan didn't hurt anyone. He hated it when the only decisions available were bad ones.

Marcus started walking, all he could do now was hope Logan didn't end up doing something he couldn't live with.
