Nightshift 34: M81-M90 Hallway

The moment the doors unlocked, Peter was rushing out of his, suited up and flashlight in hand. He knew that it would do no good to panic, but he couldn't help it. The longer he had been forced to wait in that room on his own, the more he had thought about what they might be doing to Logan.

He needed to get the word out to someone, and Statesman ( Read more... )

As Statesman took a moment to accept the news and take out his frustration, Peter remained where he was, not even flinching when the other man attacked the wall. He knew what it was like to have anger bubble up like that and almost consume you, and he could relate to how the other man was feeling all too well.

The dent he had put in the wall was pretty impressive, too. Peter sent it a small glance before returning his attention to the other man. For once, he was willing to accept the Statesman's opinion, since he wasn't quite sure what to do himself.

They were both conflicted, but in the end he could agree with Statesman's final decision. If they happened to run into Logan, so be it. But if not, they were just going to have to hope that whoever did had good sense with how to deal with him. Not that many of the patients here were helpless, so whoever was unlucky enough to cross paths with Logan would hopefully be able to stand a chance against him long enough to get away.

"All right. I guess we'll wait for Harry, then," he responded, crossing his arms as he glanced down the hall, wondering when his friend was going to show up. "I don't know where his room is, so I'm not sure how long it'll take." He hoped Harry was quick, though - he was thrumming with the need to do something, to make some progress so that this night wasn't a complete disaster. If they found something, maybe that would make up at least somewhat for what Logan was going through right now.

M84, M84, where was-? Walking along, checking off each room number, it took Harry a couple of seconds to recognise the figures ahead of him in the darkness. Only two of them, but Peter was there so it probably had nothing to do with looking for him.

Coming up alongside them, he frowned slightly as he caught sight of an impressive dent in the wall by Statesman. Something seemed off here, like both of them were distracted by something. Maybe short and hairy had just gotten sick of waiting and had run off. Whatever it was, it couldn't be important.

Grinning at Peter, he was getting more accustomed to seeing the mask already, Harry asked cheerily, "Hey, did I keep you waiting long?"

Of course, Harry didn't know, but Marcus couldn't help but be irritated by his good mood. "No, but we should get moving..." Marcus really didn't want to talk about why Logan wasn't with them.

"Logan... was taken by the hospital. We don't know where he is," And Marcus really wanted to hit something a with a bit more fight in it than sheet rock. "And it would probably be best if we didn't run into him tonight."

Despite the fact that he kept telling himself that, it was hard to believe. Marcus wanted to go find him and make sure Logan didn't hurt anyone. He hated it when the only decisions available were bad ones.

Marcus started walking, all he could do now was hope Logan didn't end up doing something he couldn't live with.
