His visits were a regular occurrence, but it wasn't as though he'd told the pirate he'd be coming this night in particular. He didn't think he'd be shooed away, but

He stuck close to the wall and dragged his feet along the corridor, impatience with his current condition weighing on his composure. That noise hadn't been like any he'd ever heard in this place, and having spent the past two weeks here, he felt ninety-nine per cent sure that wasn't a good thing. Simplest trend to follow - 'assume any news is bad news' - but the population at large seemed all too keen to prove him wrong on that one.
Like it or not, he had to check it out. He had to note whether this counted as a success or another hook to reel them in. He had to act for the moment, not think. Plenty of time to speculate later.

Phew, almost there! This felt like the shortest time that it had ever, ever taken Xigbar ever to traverse these familiar hallways. But heck, all a matter of perspective, right? Didn't matter about how long it really took, s'long as there was something else to look forward to once he got there. And while he wasn't expecting anything more than cards to the face... hey, s'long as Luxord was up enough to fling 'em, that'd be good enough. Yep yep yep~!

So... it was rather slow going when he had a weight bearing down on him, but that was just a necessary burden to drop off before he did something a whole lot better. Just one foot in front of the other, and they'd be there before they knew it!

If that happened, who would carry Luxord in his condition? Besides, he might fall onto a deadly sharp hipbone or some such, and he had enough of that beforehand. ...not that he was going to start thinking about that. If he kept telling himself it did not happen, it didn't.

Shana maneuvered her way through the maze of hallways quickly, not slowing down for anyone.

Hijikata paused when he reached the main hallway, looking up and down its shadowy expanse. Tall and black-haired; red hair, "looking like a kid." The others in his group didn't seem to be here yet. He found a position against the wall, just to make sure nothing could sneak up from behind, and prepared to wait.

He spotted the guy almost as soon as he stepped out into the corridor, and approached him quickly, although making sure not to appear like he was sneaking up on him or anything. Not that Kenren did sneaking.
"Yo. Waiting for me? I'm guessing you're Hijikata?"

"Yes. You're Kenren?" Hijikata took a step away from the wall, sizing up the other man. Despite the insouciant smile, Kenren moved like a warrior. And he was armed with a katana, a choice that Hijikata couldn't help but approve of. It was always easier to work with allies who fought in a familiar style.
