Ari was surprised at this... He was giving them power? No.. He was trying to adjust the world again!
But before the boy could shout a warning to the two, he saw Beiloune raise his hand and begin to glow. And then the ground grew very warm beneath him, surprisingly warm... There was a bright flash of light, a crackle of energy, a rush of...something... And then everything went dark.
Ari woke again to the sound of pleasant music and darkness. And...he was lying down? Quickly, the boy sat up, feeling the bed beneath him. What was going on?
There was a strange voice drifting from..somewhere, though it had a hint of static to it. "You'll all be sorry someday. You'll all be sorry that you weren't good boys and girls." This made Ari frown, worry creeping into his expression. Who was that? Beiloune? Someone else? And where was he ( ... )

Only it wasn't his home. It was the dreariest room he'd seen since his trainee days at the temple, and somewhat more sparse. That meant that he was probably in Hell.
But at the moment, Chase didn't factor Hell into his equations. He had, as of last night, fallen into a meditative trance like he usually did, seated carefully on his throne. The expectation to wake up in the same manner was high, and since he hadn't, there was more than something wrong - there was everything wrong. If this was another alternate reality ( ... )
