Nightshift 31: M51-60 hallway

Apr 19, 2008 14:05

Dinner was a bland and irritating affair as usual, which was made worse by the presence of a roommate. Such discomfort was a strikingly different reaction than how he felt rooming with Akatsuki at Cross Academy, but that was an entirely separate thing: for one, they were comfortable with each other (family), had no pretences over what they were ( ( Read more... )

Dinner shift had been pretty silent, which was a welcome change from the nagging maggots he had to deal with throughout this day. After finishing his dinner, the Elicoorian had only sat around waiting for the door to unlock. After grabbing his knife and flashlight, he quickly headed out of his room.

A quick glance around the room showed the hallway to be empty. Guess he was early tonight.

Well well, it was time for some action at last! Xigbar grabbed his pokeball and stripped off his shirt, grinning as he strolled down the hall and towards the exit. He was going to get a weapon, he was gonna get a weapon~! Oh, it was about time~!

((Merrily skipping off to here. ))

Shadow sat alone in his room debating if he should head outside. Today had not turned out the way he wanted. His arm was still in pain though it was considerably better then last night. But his arm wasn't what had him in a bad mood. He was still kicking himself for putting Reid in a bad situation with Tyler. What was he thinking? He didn't normally go around and accuse people of being in love with their best friends. What made him think that's what was going on?

With a sigh, he realized sitting around and moping wasn't going to help his mood. Perhaps he should find Valyn. Shadow always felt better when his cousin was around. He stood up and walked over to the door, hoping that he wouldn't be hit with another attack by Cats. He didn't think he could spare the limbs.

"Damn you, Martin Landel," Edgeworth said as he took a couple of the scalpels from his desk drawer and carefully put them into his overcoat's pocket. That girl on the radio had better be doubly careful, he thought, picking up his flashlight and stepping outside. If she wasn't, well...it was better that he didn't think of what could happen.

He cursed again the moment he was outside the room - the least he could have done was gotten a description of the people he would be working with that night. Armand's words floated through his head - who to trust, and who not to - and that left him feeling more nervous about the night than he was already.

Pushing the nerves and the voice that came with them aside, he turned on the flashlight and moved quickly through the hallway and out.

Kurikara found himself extremely restless waiting for nightshift to come. He kept moodily to his side of the room, pouring over his map with his back to his roommate. He'd torn the pillow case into strips to wrap his hands and reinforce the bandages from last night's battle in case he ran into trouble on the way. That arm was mostly useless. If he tried to do much of anything with it he tore the stitches open again.

As soon as the doors unlocked he was out. He knew he had a long way to go. He wanted to be out of his room before Hiei got it into his head to follow him.

Kurikara shook his head and broke off at a run.
