Night 31: Intercom, Beginning of Night

The intercom's tell-tale nighttime crackle finally echoed through the halls after all the previous excitement. The Head Doctor's voice was strained and quietly furious, the tone of a man who had achieved a goal only to be robbed of the after-party.

"You bitch. You amateur! Have you no understanding of the enemy you have made tonight? Why, yes, you may think yourself clever, sneaking in and stealing my spoils underneath my nose, but rest assured that you'll never get away with anything in my halls ever again.

"I have people on your tail tonight. Well, not people--more like former people, with gnashing teeth in mouths that smell of meat and skilled noses that will smell out you. They will find you and they will kill you and they will give me back what's mine.

Of course, don't expect to meet adversaries in the nearby hallway tonight. Your pathetic, pointless rescue parties have made me question why we even bother wasting resources on you in the first place. Your friends are only ever released from the heavily locked doors once their sessions are over. Are you all stupid or something? Can't stand for your friend to think you abandoned them? Because they're all that selfish, you know; they'll leave you stranded even at the slightest hint of...

He trailed off, then ended with a note of renewed anger:

"He doesn't deserve whatever burial you people give him."

The intercom crackled back into silence.
