[Completely open]Moving again was once again a welcome thing. The Sun Room incident had kept him from being able to rest, both his own mess with Fai, and the following one with the chase. Though he wouldn't admit to it, the man who had chased after another giggling idiot was... very familiar. He'd been sure to note their faces, particularly the one belonging to the one being chased. People like that were ones that he should avoid. He had the magician to deal with, and that was enough ( ... )

[hope you don't mind.]

So that had been Uchiha Itachi? Admittedly, Zabuza's first impression wasn't all that... impressive, but in this place it was hard to find out how strong a person really was. Perhaps the Uchiha clan hadn't really been as strong as everyone had thought? Perhaps they were all like that brat Sasuke? Then again, Zabuza knew better to judge a person's strength without fighting him, and part of him really did want to fact Itachi, just to test how powerful he really was.

Zabuza grabbed some meat to eat and then turned to go to his usual table where he always watched the door. Some other man was sitting there, but that didn't stop him. He wasn't shy and he didn't run away just because someone else was sitting in his spot. Instead, he just went over the table and sat right next to the man, not even paying him any attention. He also completely ignored the orderlies following him around because of his part in the riot.

[More grumpy Ninja meetings! XD Yay!]

Fai had yet to come in when a stranger joined Kurogane at the table, sitting directly beside him. It felt too bold of a move to have been unintentional, but since the man wasn't paying him any mind, Kurogane had no problem with it. There was no malicious intent so far as he could sense, even if he did feel something ominous about the other's presence. Nothing he hadn't felt before though. Seishirou had the same feel (both that he'd met), as had many other assassins of his home world before he'd killed them ( ... )

Zabuza watched Haku walk into the room and get some food. He sighed slightly and sat back, openly relieved before he closed off his emotions and started to eat himself.

"You waiting for someone?" he asked the guy next to him, still not looking at him but at least not completely ignoring him.

His eyes slid over again at the words. "Ah..." he acknowledged without much thought. Not waiting to sit with, but waiting to see come in, just to make sure that he wasn't trying to run away. Fai was going to know that he was being watched this time. Maybe it would pressure him into making a decision, and maybe it would just push him further into indecision. Either way, being watched should cause Fai to respond somehow.

"He'll probably run though."

"Not a friend then?" Zabuza said between bites. He wasn't really curious, but if he played nice maybe the two idiots that had been stuck with him would back off. He hated feeling boxed in by them.

Kurogane growled a little at the word. Friends weren't things he had. People he traveled with, companions, those were better terms for their little group. He wasn't sure just how to designate Fai within that since the magician was so determined not to be involved, but "friend" was not the word.

"No," he denied after thinking a moment, "just an idiot I'm stuck dealing with." If Fai was anything, he was an idiot, so Kurogane would refer to him as such.

Zabuza looked at Kurogane now. He could tell the guy was strong, but asking about it would have set off the orderlies. "Why deal with idiots?" he asked. Zabuza himself preferred to kill them.

That was a good question. He'd been forced into dealing with Fai thanks to Tomoyo and that Witch. Every world he'd dealt with him, and he was still dealing with him here, though on a larger scale. Putting up with Fai was one thing though. Dealing with him was another entirely. The reasons for just why he did that weren't up for discussion with anyone save for Fai, however. "I travel with him," he provided.

Zabuza seemed vaguely interested in that answer, though most of it was for show. "Oh?" he asked. "I would think that traveling with someone would be all the more reason for them to not be an idiot."

Kurogane didn't really care if he was interested or not, and he didn't mind the conversation either. The few words he was managing were as social as he could possibly get at times. Aside from that, this person wasn't someone he could merely ignore. He was strong, and Kurogane wasn't about to make another enemy today; he'd already managed enough so far. For that reason, he could manage a few simple answers, if that's what he wanted.

"He's not an idiot in the way you're thinking." Defending that magician was not the intent of the response, though it might have come across as such. In reality, Fai was very intelligent, and Kurogane knew it. There were just some aspects of Fai's life that the magician acted beyond idiotic in.

Zabuza thought about that for a moment. For not being a "friend" this guy was defending whoever he was looking for. That at least, was amusing. He was quiet for a while, not sure if he wanted to continue the conversation or not.

"I'm Zabuza," he offered finally, not bothering with his family name or the title he had made for himself. They would be meaningless to someone who wasn't part of his world.

The momentary silence on the other's part had Kurogane considering why he had stopped. Had he just dropped the conversation because the answer had satisfied him or had there been some other reason? It didn't matter either way, but Kurogane couldn't help but wonder at it.

"Kurogane," he returned. Introductions still weren't his thing, but at least he gave the name he always used.

Zabuza took in the name, remembering it. "How long have you been here?" he asked.

"A day," he answered. Less than a day, but it was close enough now to be accurate. From how Zabuza had asked, he could assume that people showed up at varying times. "You?" he asked, for once putting a question back on the other.

"Longer than that," Zabuza said. He ate a bit more and then pointed out Haku. "That boy over there?" he said. "The pretty one who had long black hair and pale skin. He works for me and he has a lot of information about this place. Things that might come in handy. If you ever need information you can go to him. Tell him I sent you and he'll share whatever he deems appropriate. He's working on mapping out this place right now." He glanced at the orderlies around them, but both of the men seemed to think that Zabuza was just talking crazily and as long as he wasn't hitting anyone they left him alone.
