The cafeteria was all but empty when Zelnick got there. He was a little disappointed; he had gotten the impression that patients usually ate dinner in their rooms, so he hadn't arranged to meet anyone, and there really wasn't anyone to sit by and engage in conversation yet

Moving again was once again a welcome thing. The Sun Room incident had kept him from being able to rest, both his own mess with Fai, and the following one with the chase. Though he wouldn't admit to it, the man who had chased after another giggling idiot was... very familiar. He'd been sure to note their faces, particularly the one belonging to the one being chased. People like that were ones that he should avoid. He had the magician to deal with, and that was enough.
This time, the chatty nurse led him through the food line, explaining what he was supposed to do and what was what food wise. He didn't recognize half of it, but it was no matter. Food was food, and so long as it wasn't dripping with sugar, he had no problem with it. His condition at breakfast had kept him from eating anything all day, so the food was welcome.
He took a seat to himself and kept a wary eye on the doorway leading in. Fai would have to come through that door eventually. He was welcome to avoid sitting with Kurogane - the Shinobi wouldn't have minded if he didn't - but he wouldn't be avoiding Kurogane's glare. They still had things to settle. Not now with the people in white around, but later tonight when things changed.

So that had been Uchiha Itachi? Admittedly, Zabuza's first impression wasn't all that... impressive, but in this place it was hard to find out how strong a person really was. Perhaps the Uchiha clan hadn't really been as strong as everyone had thought? Perhaps they were all like that brat Sasuke? Then again, Zabuza knew better to judge a person's strength without fighting him, and part of him really did want to fact Itachi, just to test how powerful he really was.
Zabuza grabbed some meat to eat and then turned to go to his usual table where he always watched the door. Some other man was sitting there, but that didn't stop him. He wasn't shy and he didn't run away just because someone else was sitting in his spot. Instead, he just went over the table and sat right next to the man, not even paying him any attention. He also completely ignored the orderlies following him around because of his part in the riot.

Fai had yet to come in when a stranger joined Kurogane at the table, sitting directly beside him. It felt too bold of a move to have been unintentional, but since the man wasn't paying him any mind, Kurogane had no problem with it. There was no malicious intent so far as he could sense, even if he did feel something ominous about the other's presence. Nothing he hadn't felt before though. Seishirou had the same feel (both that he'd met), as had many other assassins of his home world before he'd killed them.
This place seemed full of people much like this, all warriors in some respect. Whoever was in control must have been intentionally pulling these types to ensure that they attempted escape. But for what reason? Kurogane knew that there were children around as well, and even though the kid was a good fighter, not all of the ones he saw present would fall under the warrior definition. There were even girls younger than the Princess. It just didn't fit. What was the purpose of a world like this aside from being the obvious trap that it was? Kurogane still needed more information before he would be able to determine anything.
He gave the other a quick glance for the sake of remembering his face before setting his eyes back to the door and focusing on his food and his thoughts. So long as he didn't do anything reckless, Kurogane wouldn't protest him being there.

"You waiting for someone?" he asked the guy next to him, still not looking at him but at least not completely ignoring him.

"He'll probably run though."

"No," he denied after thinking a moment, "just an idiot I'm stuck dealing with." If Fai was anything, he was an idiot, so Kurogane would refer to him as such.

"He's not an idiot in the way you're thinking." Defending that magician was not the intent of the response, though it might have come across as such. In reality, Fai was very intelligent, and Kurogane knew it. There were just some aspects of Fai's life that the magician acted beyond idiotic in.

"I'm Zabuza," he offered finally, not bothering with his family name or the title he had made for himself. They would be meaningless to someone who wasn't part of his world.

"Kurogane," he returned. Introductions still weren't his thing, but at least he gave the name he always used.
