Luckily for Anise, the institution's widespread blackout struck seconds after she had completed her little sewing project. Luke peered his head in the room to see if he had the right room, which he thankfully did as he caught sight of his friend laying on the bed. It looked like there was no one else in the room, which meant...
"Yes! I'm the first one here!" Luke laughed, letting himself in. He knew it really didn't matter who came in first, as long as everyone was here, but he couldn't help it! Finally, a night where things were finally going right! OK, except for that one... interesting sight, but even then, things were going rather well for Luke. For once.

It was a surprise that the least reliable member of the group was the first to arrive, but Anise wasn't about to complain. He'd brought his flashlight, after all; and that meant she was finally able to see, even if just a little bit of the room at a time.
Anise shifted into a sitting position on the bed, her legs hanging over the side. "Luke! I'm glad you made it." She offered a smile, deciding to spare him a scolding on manners--just this time. "It's been pretty boring, being alone in the dark here!" And a little scary too, considering what kind of things were out there.

Speaking of the dark... yeah, why was it so dark? Luke thought Anise would have her flashlight on, at least. He walked over to the opposite bed as Anise's, placing the flashlight down so at least her area was illuminated.
"What happened to your flashlight?" If it was something like it breaking, Luke was sure they could find a new one. Well... finding someone who would be willing to part with theirs might be hard. But they'd find one!
