((Coming from hereFaust frowned again in thought. He seemed to be doing that quite a lot tonight. The railing to his left was ignored in favor of the few doors along the right hand wall ( Read more... )

((Coming back from here.))

Slamming the locker room door shut, Faust took a deep breath and frowned. The small bite on his leg hurt... far more than such a small thing should.

Limping slightly, Faust looked down the hallway. Another door. He'd dealt with worse pain. He could make this work.

Another door, again locked, but weakly. Bracing himself, Faust slammed his shoulder into the door. There was going to be a teriffic bruise there come morning. He took a step back and hit the door again.

Finally, after a few more tries, the abused lock gave way.

Spirits up now that Barret had joined them, Tifa didn't need any more pushing to get her moving. The chances were slim this particular key would fit the door, but there was always hope.

Their location was hard to judge, but he made a conscious effort to remember where they had been so if escape was dire, he'd remember the way back.

Barret tried not to notice Yuffie's obvious displeasure with his presence, but he hoped that eventually that irritation would ebb away while more pressing matters presented themselves. He still felt a bit guilty, but what was done was done, and he couldn't change the way things were handled even if he wanted to. With this in mind, he looked to Yuffie, waiting for her to try the key on the door before them.

Reaching the door, Yuffie fumbled for a moment, fishing the key out of her slipper again. Technically, she now had pockets in the jeans she was wearing, but habit kept her from putting the key in those. After all, if she did get found out by the nurses, it would suck to have both the clothing and the key confiscated at the same time.

She shoved the key into the lock, twisting it a little before shaving her head. "Nope, not budging," she informed them before shaking the door a little. "Maybe we can break it down instead." She grinned back at Tifa mostly. Most ninjas would be all for picking the lock or being sneaky...but not Yuffie.

The hallway was quickly traversed, bringing them to the far edge of the railed area. Rangiku stopped there, hearing noises from inside on of the rooms they wished to enter. She turned back to the girls and spoke quietly. "Second door," she said. "I'll go first and give you the all clear, okay?"

They were moving fast, and making up for the lost time when they where in the hall outside their rooms. Aside from her eyes being momentarily irritated after going up the stairs, not much had happened to them so far. Raven remained quiet as usual and listened to the conversation between Naminé and Ran.

They were apparently searching for the infirmary.

If they could get their hands on medical supplies, then they wouldn’t have to worry so much about getting hurt, or worse.

The three girls made their way to another hall, with Rangiku still in the lead. They then stopped near a couple of rooms.

“Be careful.” She said.

The witch was no stranger to the monsters that prowled the second floor, so she remained alert and nodded as Rangiku instructed her and Raven to wait. Naminé didn't want to get caught off guard by a sudden attack; she vividly remembered the corpse of the spider that had been lying on the ground near this place a few nights ago.

She really hoped that the noises coming from the inside were people and not creatures lurking in the darkness.

She nodded, holding the knife more firmly in her hands, keeping it out in front of her in case there was something nasty waiting just inside. "I'll call you as soon as I know it's safe," she said and then pushed open the door.

As he headed up the stairs, leading Elena with him, his mind drifted back to what Rufus had been saying about Schwarz. Now that the topic had come by, he might as well pursue it all the way.

"Think you've figured it out at this point," he said, "but the telepath grates on my nerves, and I'm not talking mistrust. I mean he personally pisses me off. I just didn't say anything before 'cause I didn't want my personal issues mixing with business."

He glanced at Rufus, catching his gaze. "Look, I'm not gonna tell you what you should or shouldn't do. I won't lie and say I like the idea of working with Schwarz, because I don't, but I'll back you up whatever you decide. You know that. But I can only put up with so much shit. So what I will tell you is that if this deal does go on and you'd rather keep him in one piece, you'd better damn well order me to stand down when he tries to fuck with any of us again and do it fast because otherwise, I will break something of his."

"Then we need to get up there, the faster the better. I'd prefer the gun in your hands, Elena. Shotguns I can work with. I feel like I'm going to break this thing ( ... )
