((Coming from hereFaust frowned again in thought. He seemed to be doing that quite a lot tonight. The railing to his left was ignored in favor of the few doors along the right hand wall

"Then we need to get up there, the faster the better. I'd prefer the gun in your hands, Elena. Shotguns I can work with. I feel like I'm going to break this thing."
That was an utter lie, of course, Rufus able to use a handgun although he preferred shotguns because of the wide blast radius. One didn't have to possess a Turk's aim to kill someone with a shotgun. Still, if Elena was possessed, she needed to get back to them. A few minutes before, it had seemed to please her that Reno had given her their gun.
Heading up the stairs behind them, Rufus' hand touched lightly on Elena's shoulder on the way. For him, that was an apology of sorts. He had thought she was merely spinning around in one of the typical teenage girl angst sessions. It showed just how little he knew of teenage girls or probably women in general. He moved past them, figuring it would do little good for anyone if he had to shoot through them to get anything that was attacking head on. If it came from the back, it would have to be smaller. Otherwise, they'd hear it coming first. Reno would be able to whack it with his pipe, right? It worked in RufusLogic. "I think you being in the position you had been what feels like an eternity ago gives you a little more leeway in expressing your opinion, as well as it mattering. That's not mentioning the eight or nine years we've worked together."
Rufus sighed, looking for anything that might come dropping down on top of them or jump out of a shadow. Better to preserve bullets, but if it was big enough...
"There's too much against it right now, Reno. I can't work against their team as well as try to keep everyone happy, and I can't ask Schuldig to leave Schwarz. I don't understand his fit of jealousy myself. I mentioned it to him and got nothing in reply. They're a strange lot, perhaps too strange for us. We'll see what tomorrow brings on that. I won't forget what you said though."
