Otacon wished good luck to Roy when his roommate departed, and finished the rest of tonight's preparations in minutes, leaving him with plenty of time to wait around for Snake. Last night, he'd spent hours in this room waiting for Fox - nothing had happened to him, thankfully, but Otacon found himself worrying the same way he did last night. Except

But even with the missing eye, Snake still acted and sounded like the man he knew, and for now, that was enough for Otacon to know.
"A few. The typical amount for Landel's." He laughed softly as he considered the question. It wasn't as if their own time was lacking in 'impossible' people. "Two anime ninjas helped me out last night. I met the Fullmetal Alchemist, who's a friend of Fox's now. And I talked to a couple more video game heroines, one of whom actually has a voice like Mei Ling's. Which, considering that Axel's from a game too, is... pretty suggestive."

More mind games. How many of these did the hospital have up their sleeves? Maybe Snake's theory was possible. Could he trust his own memory, really, even down to the small monotonous events of life?
"Wait... They did play with my head." How could he have almost forgotten? Otacon pushed his glasses back up before continuing: "The last thing I remember before coming here is that I'd just finished checking the names on the disk. Twelve names. I researched them all before I called you, but now I can't even name one ( ... )

And they had made it! In time, at that.
Sora felt utterly relieved when he walked through M1's door. So this was the colonel's room, right? As expected, it didn't look that different from anyone else's. But they were here, and that just made him feel so much better. It would have been horrible if they had done all that work for nothing!
"Phew," he said as a way to verbalize how he was feeling. Well, neither Roy nor his roommate was here... Not that he had been expecting them to be. "Looks like we made it." He glanced over his shoulder again to send the others a grin.
While he was tempted to just dump their findings on the floor and leave it at that, he knew it would be a better idea to hide them, so he started in the direction of one of the closets.

It hadn't taken the three terribly long to reach M1, which was wonderful news considering nighttime was drawing to a close. With everyone alive and their goal more or less complete, Rena was happy. Pleased, specifically, for having to have done something worthwhile.
This required a cheer, which Rena was happy to oblige with a clap. Albeit, a weak one, as her fingers were still in a bloody mess. The girl had difficulty just holding onto her paraphernalia, let alone initiating a gesture of encouragement. "Do you think it's best to return to our rooms before morning?" she asked Sora from the doorway. (It didn't seem proper to enter another individual's room without a sufficient reason.) "Or to wait it out until...then?"

"I suppose it would be best to wait here. After all, if we split up and get attacked on the way back, none of us would stand a chance. Well," Artemis smiled, "Maybe Sora would. What is that key-thing anyway?"

"Like I said, morning will just... come, and we'll all be automatically taken back to our rooms, so we might as well wait here," he explained as he stepped out of the closet. Though... How was Roy going to know he had hidden the metal there? He was going to have to write a note.
Pulling a sheet of a paper from his journal out of his pocket (he made sure to keep at least a few sheets on him), he grabbed a pen from one of the desks and scribbled down a quick note: Mission accomplished. Check the closet. -SoraIt wasn't easy to write, considering his hands were cut up slightly, but it was at least legible. He set it down on the desk - hopefully it was Roy's desk and not his roommate's - and then turned to Artemis so he could answer his question ( ... )
