Still, he now knew to stay away from any drugs that the institute offered if possible. Not that he'd been lining up to get them in the first place, but this just made him more stalwart in that decision.
The night came upon them just as it always did, and Guy didn't think much of Berg's voice coming on or his hint that the general was taking on some special assignment. He'd already heard about the missions from Claude and he really didn't want anything to do with them.
Guy was in the middle of changing from the military uniform into his own outfit when the intercom came on again. So soon? It seemed out of the ordinary, but that became even more the case when a siren started and I.R.I.S' voice crackled through the speakers overhead. "Code Red? What's going on?"
The man quickly finished dressing and then grabbed for the bone bracelet he'd dug out of his belongings earlier. He didn't want to put it on yet, so he tucked it into his pocket instead and then grabbed for his sword, radio, and flashlight. It seemed like he had to carry more and more each night, but with this foreboding announcement Guy was in more of a hurry than usual. He didn't have the time to work out a better way to carry everything.
"Looks like something went wrong." If that was the case, then he needed to figure out what it was. Not before meeting his friends, though. Guy sent Okita a glance, finding it hard to leave him after what had happened and yet knowing that he had no choice. "...Please be careful out there tonight, Okita," he said seriously before turning toward the door.
As Guy headed down the hallway, he did his best to drown out the sound of that consistent siren.
