Night 59: M71-M80 Hallway

Oct 24, 2011 12:59

Peter lifted his head up to the intercom with a heavy sigh. Aaah, I.R.I.S. His oldest of flames had returned, singing him sweet auto-tuned melodies of emergencies and holy crap souvlaki why was everything in their room suddenly being shot up with Sailor Moon beams ( Read more... )

"Uh...okay." Carter's grip on his crowbar got slightly tighter. It was nice that Arthur was feeling better, but he was behaving kind of funny. "I'm just gonna...go see what all the alarms are about."

And he skittered out of the room as quickly as possible. He had no idea where he was going, specifically, but he wasn't sure he wanted to be around Arthur right now.

Today had been nothing but crap; no two ways about it. He'll admit it to himself. He was kind of scared. He still hadn't found Serah. Hadn't found Hope either. And now even Lightning... Lightning had gone missing. He didn't understand it. He just saw her yesterday. He saw her at lunch. How could she go and disappear before dinner like that ( ... )

Zero dismissed the end of the day intercom broadcast as nothing to be too concerned about. Aguilar was doing some typical shady business from the sound of things, and that was nothing new. Looked like tonight would be another night to explore the place freely, and now that the once-Reploid had some means of defending himself, it would be a much easier task to accomplish on his own...

And then the alarms unexpectedly (and very loudly) went off, prompting Zero to snap to attention and grab the pipe out of reflex. A pink glow engulfed room - far from natural, causing him to shudder for an unknown reason - and a robotic voice came over the intercom to repeat the message, emergency, code red. And just as suddenly as it all started, it was over, leaving only strange silence and that eerie pink glow behind. It didn't take half a brain to realize that, even for this place, something was far from right ( ... )

Now that there sensation was unavoidable and something he couldn't ignore. The sudden silence he wasn't used to switching almost in an instant to the familiar messy sound in the background that he intrinsically knew to be his own. Which meant one thing to him and that was the folks here had done something odd that worked out in his favor.

The way he sat up almost had him toppling off his bed, using more force than was necessa--

He peered at his hands abruptly, feeling much stronger than he had been prior. It was a good feeling, one that he really didn't expect but completely relished and it meant one other thing to him.

Meant that he was going to get the hell out of here, come hell or high water! But first he needed to find the other nations, make sure they got to their respective locations or if they got their... senses back as it were. Because he wasn't about to just leave anyone behind if he could help it.

It all happened so suddenly. One minute, he'd been pushing that nasty pink sludge around his plate, and then suddenly Woody felt like his ears were going to burst open from the sound of a hideous alarm. "Code Red?!" he frantically echoed as he clamped his hands over his ears. Just what did that mean?! It almost reminded Woody of some kind of war movie, but--

"Aahh!" A pink, glowing light rushed into the room, lighting almost everything in sight. Woody tried to pull his long, lean legs into the chair with him, until he was practically perched in his seat. Part of him faintly realized that he looked ridiculous, but who cared!? That stuff was probably dangerous ( ... )

((And back from here.))

As he ran from the...thing making that hissing noise, Woody looked over his shoulder to make sure Mack and the new guy were following close behind. The last thing he needed was for one of them to turn into monster food, because it'd mean Woody would have to throw himself into the fray to save them.

"It's M79," he quickly told them. "Hurry!" Thankfully, just two doors down, and less of a chance to mess up their escape. Since he'd left the door partly open a few minutes ago, it was just a matter of kicking it open with his boot. Good thing, too, because his hands were full from the flashlight and clothes rod.

Intrude? After hearing that, Jesse mouthed the word back to himself and ran a hand over his face. He was stuck in some nightmarish mass murder scene and the first couple of dudes he ran into had to be exceedingly polite about it. It was a relief when the super tall one decided to lead the way to somewhere closer, right back where he'd first woke up, actually, and --

Oh God, what was that?! He jumped and spat out a low curse, spurred by terror into following this new crowd as closely as possible. The one with the flashlight, he was gonna stick to that motherfucker like glue.

That hadn't even sounded human. As short as the distance was, Jesse kept glancing back like he was expecting something to jump them out of nowhere. Something probably would if they stayed out here. Leaving the room wasn't such a good idea after all... but at least he wasn't alone now. They reached M79 and Jesse backed off their tails for a moment, gesturing to the shrieky guy to go in after the leader while he watched their backs ( ... )

"It's a cat. The cats are back!" He knew the sound of their hiss. It was only a matter of time before they came for him again and finished the job they had started several nights ago! Ippo didn't have to be told twice to movie it. He ran slowly--slowly for him--behind Woody and the new patient they had picked up.

When he allowed Ippo in before him, the boxer's automatic reaction was a stuttered,"Th-Thank you" before they all piled in on each other. There was always time for manners, as his mom would say.

Who ever Woody's roommate was, he was no longer in the room. The boxer hoped the person was well-equipped for such a night or else he wouldn't be getting far. It was a terrible thought and it soured his stomach, leaving him doubled over despite his great endurance.

"Should... Should we--That is, can you even lock these doors?" If not, what was going to keep the roving gang of cats between them and the hallway? "Do we need to barricade it?!" Augh, this was all too much to handle at once!
