And now, after everything that had happened, they were finally standing in front of their destination. As he gazed at those looming doors, the fact they had no clue of what waited for them sank in. It was scary, yet a small wave of exhilaration washed over him. Ready or not, they were here, and they were about to see what was inside. Claude sure hoped they were prepared.
Whatever they found ahead, though, he had no doubt it would prove challenging to them. Thankfully, he knew they could all count on each other, no matter what happened.
"I feel the same way," he admitted before letting out a small breath. "Let's do this."
After taking another set toward the pair of imposing doors, he was stunned to see them suddenly move. They seemed to groan under their own weight, and yet they cleared the way for them to continue ahead. How did they know to open? Were there motion detectors installed that recognized their presence? Weird.
At any rate, it was too dark to see what they were walking into, but there was only one way to find out what was in the next room.
Swallowing hard, he adjusted the grip on his sword and stepped inside with his friends.
