Day 24; Doctor's Office #1; Dr. Crane

May 20, 2007 11:23

Crane had been pleased that the bosses had decided to change up the therapy schedules. It gave him more time during the shift with some patients and allowed him more time out of the week to see his patients and do his job ( Read more... )

Ah, was it time to play with the doctors again? What fun.

She had grown bored of pestering Axel and Roxas, so the change in activity was somewhat welcomed. Larxene remembered her previous with meeting with him, and how it had actually been slightly entertaining. The Nobody wondered if she would get him again, or if there’d be someone new in his place.

Her question was answered the moment she opened the door to the office.

"Well well, if it isn't the good doctor." she said shortly after coming in, making herself as comfortable as possible.

“How are you on this fine, Landel day?”

Crane smiled slightly, though it might have looked a bit more like a smirk, when his first patient came in. "I'm faring well today, Ms. Aston. And you?" he asked. "How are things on the other side of the proverbial fence?"

Of course, he didn't really need to ask, but it was only polite. He'd read that her experimental therapy session hadn't gone so well as had been hoped, and she still seemed to be recovering from whatever had happened. It hadn't been specified.

"As good as can be, considering I'm supposed to be insane." Pretending to be civil was entertaining, but not as much as the thought of hurting him for acting so smug around her. Who did he think he was?

"So, what fun-filled activities do you have in store for me today?” she asked, grinning a bit. “I hope it’s better than what the last doctor did to me.”

River certainly had to coaxed back into Dr. Crane's office. She wasn't the type to forget, and yet the fact that it was Doctor Day had completely escaped her. She'd been caught up in the winds, blown about and loving every moment of it until the time would come, and it would be time again. Time again to see, and time again to set foot on the ground. She'd been drifting for too long, drifting alone and all at once.

The girl had to be dragged, gently dragged of course, into Dr. Crane's office, where she simply stood in the doorway, staring at the man intently and warily as though she expected him to attack her at any moment. He was a doctor. They were so hidden, carrying murderous intent behind intrigue and impersonal desires to change the world. They called it helping ( ... )

So wary of him. The poor girl couldn't get any better if she continued to hide, or attempt to, against the wall. But Crane knew she was just as likely to continue moving away if he tried to approach her. "His...friend with the hat?" the doctor asked. He didn't remember seeing any patients with hats.

But then...on second thought, he vaguely remembered hearing one of them, the other one who had claimed to know him, mention something about a hat. He just couldn't remember the patient's name. "Oh, yes, I believe I know who you're talking about, Ms. Fenwick. But why would they be inclined to violence?"

He had to tread even more cautiously now, even in his questioning. She said she wouldn't be poked, so he had to phrase things carefully. And what had she meant by that last comment, about the last time they meet?

River's eyes were on Dr. Crane the entire time. Part of her wanted to glance around the room, looking for some escape that perhaps she hadn't noticed the first time she'd been in here. The fear that taking her eyes off of him would result in a needle, a sedation... She couldn't afford that now ( ... )
