Day 24; Doctor's Office #9; Dr. Sohma

May 19, 2007 18:30

Dr. Hatori Sohma's office was sparsely decorated, and utilitarian at best. He'd come to the Institute requesting not much more from the staff but bookshelves for his rather impressive collection of books, and bookshelves were what they gave him. A modern desk marked the middle of the room, a single picture frame facing away from the cushy patient ( Read more... )

After the events in the cafeteria, Aidou was in more of a mental deadlock than he'd been before, and all he'd wanted was peace and quiet. He would not cry over closing doors to potential allies, or opening them for enemies, and that applied to all three males: Yoshiaki, Sasuke, and Okita ( ... )

Hatori stuffed the rest of the biscuit stick into his mouth, deadpanning it as usual and masking it with a slight cough as he swallowed.

His first patient was here, and escorted by.. more than one nurse. Had the patient caused trouble? The file had warned of violent behavior. ..Well, that was to be expected in such an institute. It was either risk patients getting into fights with one another or solitary confinement.

He offered a slight, professional smile to the boy, releasing the nurse with a flick of his hand. "Good morning. I'm Dr. Hatori Sohma - I'm your doctor. Have a seat." His tone was rather cold, even as he smiled.

His first patient.

In his mind, Aidou was already starting slip back into a coldly defensive stance. It was so wrong to be on the opposite end of this treatment. A person like him had no place as the patient.

He didn't acknowledge Hatori's request to sit, just watched with a inscrutable tilt to his head. It was a well known fact that vampires excelled in all studies should they put their minds to it - the advanced intelligence of their race led them to take many high-standing positions. Aidou hated the studying, but predominated over the learning. Aidou had tried his hand at psychology once or twice, long in the past.

"You know... " he said finally. "I hate the smell of cigarette smoke. It's disgusting."

Aidou wasn't exactly trustful of the intentions behind this. He didn't ease the distance between them.

Hatori didn't flinch at Aidan's comment, but raised his eyebrows instead. The boy reminded him of Kyo already, what with the air of violence about him. And the stubbornness. It reminded him of home in a not entirely unpleasant way.

Well, he wasn't going to force him to sit. Hatori could be almost infinitely patient, and the chair looked comfy enough that it could probably convince Aidan to sit eventually, once he was tired of standing.

He was rather unused to comments about his smoking, though. The culture here was certainly different in some ways. He'd just skirt the situation entirely. Arguing would get him nowhere... but really, he wasn't sure how to reply to a comment like that. "So.. ah. How has your stay in Landel's been these past few days?" he decided on asking.
