"...No. No no no," he quietly berated himself. Where did he think he was going? They were miles away from Doyleton! Even if he got there before night ended--without getting attacked by something on his way to it, that was--he had no idea where he'd start looking, or whether Mr. Edgeworth was actually living there!
"Hmmm..." Gumshoe slowed down in his impulsive steps as the thoughts ran through his head and he slouched where he stood when he came to a halt, frowning deeply at the darkness in front of him. As if to confirm what a bad idea it was, his flashlight started flickering... Kinda like it did when the batteries were about to run out. He knocked it against his palm to get it to work properly and groaned when the light got weaker. Switching it off for the moment to save battery life, he relied on the light from passing flashlights to keep the area safely lit.
Then it hit him.
"...Oh!" He squared his shoulders again. "Heh. How did I forget something like that?" Of course! He was determined to finish what Mr. Edgeworth had started and get to the bottom of all of this, right? That meant tying up every loose end he could find! His first order of business? Investigating the murder of that kid!
Remember what Ms. von Karma said! The body won't be there forever. It's now or never!
Finding Mr. Edgeworth would have to wait for another time. Hopefully not for too long. ...Ugh. Who was he kidding? It might take them months to find him, and then what? He didn't know the first thing about curing the effects of brainwashing... And that was providing he even lasted that long!
